Interesting tidbit. I have decided that PP sucks and now that they seem to think they can run my business by their rules not mine I am waving goodbye at them. Screw you Paypal. You are not going to control the policies of my businesses not on Ebay. I called my bank this morning to talk about a merchant account. She asked me what was going on with Paypal. She said that she has gotten more calls like mine in the last week or so then she has gotten in years. All of the sudden, sellers want nothing to do with PP and the competition has noticed the increased business. I cant imagine shes the only one. I would bet that all the big merchant account companies have seen a huge rise in interest in them now that PP has announced they will be wrecking sellers' lives across all their venues not just Ebay. Sounds like many sellers have been pushed over the edge and won't tolerate PP any longer. Good. I hope they choke on all their dumb new policies. I just thought it was interesting that even other financial institutions have seen sellers' dis-satisfaction with PP. I wonder how many people will be closing their PP accounts.

If you don't mind me asking - what specifically did PP do that angered you so? I know there's a ton of things to choose from - just curious.

I accept that Paypal, owned by Ebay will have some control over my dealings on Ebay, but they have no business lording control over my other venues. I am not going to let Paypal hold funds from my Etsy and Bonanzle and RubyLane shops. Paypal does not get to over rule me in my own business. PP does not get to tell me what is good and bad cust svc and when I should ship etc. Its not gonna happen and they can chew me. And no, I dont mind you asking.

In some of the alternatives you can offer Google, Amazon, etc.

I see a lot of stories of PP holding money, but in some cases I don't understand the reason people left more than $1k in a PP account. For example I found a lot of seller that accept PP, but prefer to pay their postage directly in the USPS office. Other people prefer to pay items with their credit cards and not the balance.

About PP they will continue to rule because the ones people are calling "alternatives to PP" always lack of something or become something worse than PP. For example look Paymate. Now they added a monthly fee of $5, chargeback are $25, and next month they add a yearly fee.

In Google a lot of people can be buyers, but sellers are only for US (50 states) and UK.
