Thinking out of the box here, but it sure would be nice to submit an image to a search engine and get a result. What made me think of it is I have a plant that I can't identify. Maybe someday?

Okay, too new yet, but at least they are trying! It has to be on a web page to search.

Nah, it looks for the exact photo. However, it could be used to see if anyone is using your photos on auction sites, perhaps.

Possible first step towards what you were looking for. If developed further it would also be valuable for those "what is this thing" moments for sellers...

It will probably happen someday, but I doubt that with the current status of technology, you can show a computer one picture and expect it to correctly identify a species.

Why not just post a picture here? Have you tried any gardening/botany forum yet?

Anyway, good luck and don't forget to post when you've found out.
