:roll: I had heard about this happening, but in spite of all I found undesirable about onlineauction.com- I really didn't believe they would really try to 'worm' another year's founding membership fees out of members who unsubscribe.

But it happened. I unsubscribed as a founding member last April. (Thank goodness I kept my emails) My membership would end in July,2010, per Ola's email notification.

Yesterday. I decided to go into my Ola account (hadn't checked it in months,. as they haven't even crossed my mind) but I just went back in, just to check.

Then I find (in my account) that I am STILL listed as a founding member. and NOW they say my founding membership will end in July 2011?? AFTER they charge me for yet ANOTHER year"?

Now, I have had to go to the trouble of notifying my credit card company to NOT honor ANY charges from this company.

I gave Ola a FOUR MONTH ADVANCE NOTICE of ending my membership- Looks like they just ignored it. Just a warning, to keep an eye on them and check your credit card charges after you cancel your membership with Ola

I did write to Ola support regarding this- a per usual, they are ignoring my email.

After reading a problem like this one. I make me doubt some people looking for OLA as the head of a boycott.

I don't quite understand what you have said here. Are you saying that Ola is the head of the Ebay boycott? Or is Ola being boycotted?

I used to absolutely love Ola- Had so much fun on there, had sooo many friends- enjoyed the games, etc. Until they started allowing certain members to run the place. Then they started kicking people off the chats (and that's REALLY the most you get from Ola- I made practically NO sales- but I stayed for the enjoyment I got from the chats and games-

I honestly have not given Ola a backward glance- Compared to other sites, they are so immaturely ran. But I am glad that I popped back in to check my account- or I would have NEVER known they were going to hit me for another $96 fee!

Had to at least comment on this statement. Your comment makes it sound like all this only began happening sometime after your joining. If you would be more in depth, I think you could tell people you'd heard about all this, or were warned prior to finding out on your own. Just like the charges, all these things have been being done to many for a very long time.

By the appearance of their tumbling and stagnating numbers over the past multiple months, I think their reputation has finally permeated the bulk of the internet.

Makes one wonder who really is minding the store over there. Whoever it is, be it owner or cheerleader, they could sure use some lessons in leadership, at the least. Can't hold a place together forever using mere deception.

Oh, it's well known that Ola has their cheeerleaders starting all os these boycotts against Ebay all the time- I think Legendsofbatman is one of the largest bloggers and provokers. Also metzy. The day that a site like Ola is instrumental in bringing down a company like Ebay- LOL LOL It's a pretty well known fact that Ola members aren't the best buyers or sellers in the world anyway- So let them ALL boycott Ebay- we won't lose anything.
Since we seldom sell 99 cent items... LOL :D Betty Lou
