Today I clicked on my Ola account link (Since I am still a basic member"?

This is the link...
http://www.onlineauction.com/End.htm

And THIS is the ' INTERNET' FRAUD message that came up- instead of signing me into Ola.

You Have Reached The End Of The Internet
You have reached the last page on the internet. If you think you have reached this page in error, you have not.
It is simply because you have been online too long and had nothing better to do.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please try the following:

Click the Get a job button, or try again later.

If you are lonely and have nothing better to do then go out and get yourself a girl, stop eating chips and no, Civilization is not an online reality show.

Please click on "Start", click the Turn Off Computer button, wait for your computer to shut down and then go Read a book.
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings. That will not help either. So the link to Detect Network Settings is not set to function. Relax. This really is the End of the Internet. The link to Detect Network Settings isn't going to do anything either.
You could Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer this will confirm you have no choices
If you like, you can click Back - but that will take you to the the page before the end of the internet!
The only boundaries to the internet are your own moral limitations. Now turn off your computer and go outside and play

The End of the Internet has been reached.
In other words YOU have been banned from
our site for not playing fair, have a nice day:).

This is what I mean, when I talk about the UNPROFESSIONAL actions of the people who run onlineauction.com-
SOMEONE went to a LOT of trouble to make up this fradulent Internet report- and I WILL be forwarding this to my server.
I think this may be one of the MOST childish things they have come up with so far... Hope this shows poetential members just WHAT they are dealing with when they deal with Ola....

Hi Betty Lou...

It seems that OLA doesn't want you around. :o

I wonder how many other folks are seeing that message? :?

I don't know if that is illegal but it looks like something some 7th or 8th grader might come up with.

Unprofessional - for sure.

Just more reason to stay away from there.

LOL- Well, I certainly have no desire to be around Ola- however, as long as they still had me down as a founding 'member'- six months after I cancelled that membership, I thought I'd check my omails, and thought I might look at items to buy- AND double-check my account to see if they'd added anything more to it.
For them to totally change my account 'sign in' link to this childish message, was just shocking.

I don't know... They just keep topping their unprofessional actions. They couldn't REPLY to my email, but I guess they thought it would be funnier to change the link and add the Internet message. Just a simple reply, to my email, as to WHY I was still registered as a founding member, would have been fine. Now, I have had to CANCEL my credit-card since they have it on record.

Can you even IMAGINE Ebay doing such a thing? LOL..

WOW, that's one of, if not the most ignorant things I've seen.

What a joke of a website! (notice, I did not say 'Professional' website).

Several years ago I was trying to find a new home away from ebay. I checked out several sites, including OLA. Then I started reading all the comments here on PSU and never went anywhere near OLA again.

If I were you, I'd google and find all the equalvalents to PSU and post that on their sites also. I'd forward it to Ira over at AuctionBytes. I'd sent it to any and all sites that report on online selling.

What a joke they are!

I don't know enough about ola except for many of the gripes about it from the sellers/former sellers. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your post and I clicked that link. What an unprofessional thing to do. I would be nervous knowing a site like that had control of my listings and credit card. I thought people overexaggerated about OLA but not now, I am speechless. Good luck at your next selling home/s.

Ohhh... rude contempt? You haven't see anything yet. So much I could say- but I, and others, went through sheer Hell with this auction site. I actually haven't even THOUGHT about that site since I canceled my Founding membership last April.. They banned me from the chats, because I ruffled their little 'cheerleader's' feathers, by coming up with a popular chat game, that she hadn't thought of first- LOL- can you believe it? Next thing I knew, I was PERMANENTLY banned from the chats! Just so happens that this member 'Metzy goat lady' or something like that, is close friends with the owner, so they do whatever she tells them to do... she PROBABLY wrote the phony Internet message for them. lol

Anyway- after being banned from the chats- and, of course making hardly any sales (In my opinion Ola is NOT a place to make sales- just a social club of sorts, and friends purchase from friends) but that was okay- I still had Ebay for sales...I just enjoyed the games and chats on Ola. I DID miss my many friends in the chats, gotta admit that- but once you make an enemy of the soap lady- you might as well hang it up. So I did.

I just- on a whim- decided to check into Ola.. to make sure my founding membership HAD INDEED been cancelled, as I didn't want them charging me another $96!! My founding membership was to end in Aug. of 2010.

Of COURSE I was upset to see that they had me down for ANOTHER YEAR- and that my membership now, would end in August of 2011!!
They had intentionally or unintentionally forgotten to cancel my membership. So, I emailed them. They did not reply- this is the way their support operates. Which left me with no option but to cancel my credit card that they had on file. I had read about SO many members being falsely charged on their cards.

So, instead of getting a nice reply from them- that anyone would expect- something like.."Sorry, this was an error on our part' ?? They just make up this crazy Internet report- and switched my Ola account link to bring that up when I try to access Ola. ??

I'm sure this could be reported to Internet Explorer for fraudently using their icon on their made-up email. My son in law will be helping me with the legal/reporting end of this. Meanwhile. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Betty Lou

It's not OLAs

If memory serves, its maleware?, forgot what exactly triggers it.

I've run across it about 2 dozen times, on diifferent sites over the last several years, though not lately.

Clean your puter

LOL- Oh, it's Ola alright- I'm on a brand-new laptop- My 'puter' is clean... Only Ola has access to my account 'Ola' link... Not to mention, it's pretty clear WHY they did it. ONLY they could have done it.
What 'triggered' it was making Ola angry by posting on PSU about them trying to get another years founding member fees off of me.... LOL-

Believe what you will.

It is/was a fairly common low-level malaware?, something on your NEW puter is triggering it.

Unless you clean your puter it may pop up once in a while, regardless of what site you may be on.

You can backpage out of it. It was just a pop-up nuisance the last time I got it.

I've gotten it on financial sites, Gold & silver sites, coin related forums, news forums, sports links, news links, the only common denominator was my puter.

Google it

I'm not doubting your word- I'm just saying IF it is malware (not maleware) then it was put on there by someone at Ola- and that WOULDN'T be the first time they,, or some Ola member accessed my private computer. I'm sure there are several hackers on Ola. I've had a 'certain member' find out about conversations that they could have ONLY known about by hacking into my computer.

I have never seen that before- and I do KNOW that Ola CAN be very dangerous if you cross them But none of my other links are affected- only the Ola link- and who cares if I ever go there again? They are a dangerous bunch. The return path on my icon link goes directly back to onlineauction.com....

How do you 'backpage' out of it? Thanks, Betty Lou

I think this 'message' at the end of their email- makes it pretty obvious that it's from Ola- My son in law checked it out (He teaches computer programing) and said it is from Ola...
and, as I said THIS message is at the end of the email

Just received an email from Ola support- They admitted that they did it!
(which I knew) They said I asked to be removed from their system- so they did it ! It was only signed TW. Betty Lou
