I am making a lot of progress in my rebuild & new design.
I would like to know how it is loading in different browsers, so when you check, please let me know if you are using mozilla, IE, firefox, or another one, and if you are in a Mac or PC.

Also how the colors look. They are not all from the famous "256 web safe" codes.

Thank you in advance for helping.

Also, I am always looking for articles to put in the business section that presently is a list of topics to be covered. If you want to write a review of a company, (well-balanced on pro's & con's with an eye to how a "hobby-to-business" level person would use that company,) I will be happy to consider pubishing it with a prominent link to your site.

I am placing sponsors in the business page who offer wholesale resources & such. If anyone has experience with the companies you see there, please post your thoughts so I can maybe include them in my "tips & caveats".

The Teapot Co-op

Business Section

Jan 31; Here is an update, editing this post:

I have made a "listing linker" that is legal under eBay policies. It carries primarily some additional information about a hat for sale as well as some ebay ads. This type of page is a big contributor to a seller's traffic. I still have a little work to do oon it, but it shows its' stuff now.

Info Page For Mike's Hat listing

I also have finished redesigning my eBay store with elements from the co-op site so that it is even more "seamless" of a transition than it was. I am using a regular ebay template under my logo. If you were to buy something via PayPal, you would also see the same design carried through a custom page.

My next project for the co-op will involve either Yahoo or Amazon. Probably Amazon.

I hope to learn enough from thise biggies to make similar pages compatible with the other auction sites that members use. I learned a LOT about constructing my own listing-pull programs, and so now I have to just study each company's policies to see which ones can be included on behalf of Co-op members.

I can't get into all the details in an open board because of some of my affiliation contracts and nondisclosure clauses, but I can answer some questions via pm if they are not allowed for me to post in a public forum.

Feb 4, editting to update:

A. in order to keep this thread from becoming a string of my own posts, I will be treating this top post as a kind of "blogger". I made the title just the simple name of the site and I will change the subtitle when I update from time to time.

B. today's update: I noticed a possible source of confusion in a post that refers to an encrypted link, so I posted a short explanation. If anyone has questions about the type of ads they see in my site please post.

Mornin' Teapot ... I thought the pages loaded quite well, no problems here, using IE whatever the latest edition is with comcast cable on a regular ole PC.

The thing I noticed almost immediately is that it felt like ebay. Then, Hark! I realized it WAS.

Smoothly blended link into the store.

I'm not wild about ebay anymore .... just the prices, I didn't much care about any of the rest of it.

Best of luck to you !

Loaded fine on my pc.
I'm using FireFox on verizon.net DSL

I like want you have done with it so far and your colors are easy on my bad eyes. I think some sites try too hard and the result is harsh for some of us with special eyeglass prescriptions.

Hi Teapot,

The site loads really nicely and is beautiful. I really dislike eBay, though, except for some of the prices. I won't ever sell there again and I buy as infrequently as possible. I get the "willies" just logging in. Heck, I'm working on getting my favorite sellers to sell someplace else

Thank you, granny dragon & pip. eBay is the concentration for me right now but that is not the concentration of the co-op, so obviously I have to find a way to point out that
Liquidation.com and ubid.com are not ebay. It helps me to see that this is what struck you strongest.

My market is people who are a step or two behind you, who are still in eBay, some of whom may want to move off that platform but others of whom may want to maximize their benefits from it.

I will have to work harder on the secondary pages to present more "diversity".

Pip, there will be "teapots" scattered through the site that will click over to co-op member pages. I have 3 members in pre-launch right now :)

Hey Dee, I'm on FF and I like the site. One thing I have to say though, is that when I went to the "Buy" link for the teapot at the bottom, it gave me a page error. Thought you might want to knwo as you could be missing out on sales!

It could be something with my cookies/firewall as well. It's funny that the Bodum is at the bottom (tee hee hee).

Here is the message FF just gave me when I checked out the link again.

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.tkqlhce.com.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Roundy, this may be answering something for me, then. I have chosen to "encrypt" the links, and maybe your firewall is rejecting because of that? Could you check the other teapot set, which was put up in the same session and is in the same catalogue, and see if that leads you over?

Or also try one of the other banner ads? Those are all encrypted, also. The tableTools banner should work.

Maybe I need to redo those with un-encrypted links.

I'm getting the same thing as Round on all three in FF and also in IE (cannot find server). Same thing on the roses pic. All other links seem to work, though. Great layout!

Ok, couold you tell me what your security is set at? I just thought of something else besides encryption that might be causing it.

This is great, though, thank you, because these ads pay commissions on sales and not pay-per-clicks so I really have wondered if all the click-throughs have been registered, so now I can check those stats.

I have only been in this ad program since November.

My security is set on High. I reset it to Medium, but it still doesn't click through.
