Amazon.com Inc says that Tuesday was its biggest-ever day for sales of Kindle devices. The online retail giant posted a note acknowledging the sales boom for the electronic book reader on both its Amazon.com and Amazon Kindle Facebook pages.
The retailer also posted on the Amazon Kindle Facebook page that on Friday it will sell its older, second-generation Kindle for $89, which is $10 less than Best Buy Co. says it will price the Barnes & Noble Nook e-reader, also for Black Friday.
“Our previous generation Kindle uses the old E Ink technology (the same E Ink as in the current Nook),” Amazon, No. 1 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, noted on its page after announcing the promotion.
