Amazon-How best to sell without paying the $40 monthly fee ?

It seems to me one would have to sell 40 items a month to come equal of a seller not paying the monthly fee but non subscription seller would pay 1 dollar extra for each sale. BUT the problem with this is one has to sell only what is already in amazons catelogue. So, it may be best to sell for 2 or 3 months with the $40 subscription and with that put ones items in amazons catelogue and then switch back to non subscription selling unless one has over 40 items sold per month.

I think once its in amazons catelogue then it stays there and then all sellers can sell same.. BUT i'm not quite sure, maybe some amazon seller will come thru and comment on this.

Yes, you have that correct. If you have a specific number of items to add to the catalogue, you can open a Pro-Merchant account, add the items, then cancel the account and use the existing ASIN numbers which stay in Amazon's db (sort of) permanantly.

The only other consideration, as you have mentioned, is the $1/item discount which would make sense if you sell more than 40 items/month.

Generic comments about Amazon: Be sure to follow their rules exactly as they can be rather punitive if you run out of stock, post in the wrong category, or get bad feedback. Drop-shipping is a bad idea with Amazon as you don't have control over inventory or shipping. Also, start slowly with low risk items until you have decent history with them, or they can "review" your account which involves freezing your funds for a while.

But, tons of traffic and good sales there.

Good luck to you!

Good info there about amazon

Yes, its very helpful for people to debate pros and cons with an open non agenda mind , so that people can truly find what fits them the best.

ALL sites are simply not the same and both the pros and cons should be debated.

I had seen a post by someone id of pie or something seeming frustrated how people are not giving non agenda and non biased info and data.

ONLY when debating both the pros and cons can one truly learn, it seems some just do not like speaking about the CONS on certain sites.
