[B] I have no way of showing you completed items as you know. I sold 33 books. They were hard covered at 3.00 to 4.00 each, some paperbacks at 1.25 to 1.99 each. I may have some for you at .99 but not many. Then I sold some currency at 2.99 to 9.49 each and some coins from 2.00 to 6.99 each about 18 pieces. Sorry, I sold 51 items not 50. So, watch for my feedbacks and you can total it up yourself.
That is where the buyers are. Both buyer by the way were from
Bidville! If you have GOOD merchandise. We have some
other Sellers there from Bidville also. I bet you might even know them.
Where I sell, my buyers follow me. I have sold for years, so my buyers the majority are repeaters and have been with me for over 6 to 7 years. Plus with all my advertising I have an influx of international buyers. I ship to Spain, France, Germany, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Japan, China, Canada, Guam and many other Foreign countries. I had them on eBay, I took them to Yahoo and now they are with me at www.theauctionman.net
Come and join us, we have many catagories
you can list your miscellaneous stuff under. :) If you have auctioned for any length of time, you will know it is not good business to put all your items in one Auction barn! If there is fire! Your out of business. So, you spread the insurance around. Try it you may like it!
Happy Auctioning and the best of luck!
Sincerely,
Goldreaper.rr

I did run an Italian charm special to introduce myself into Bidville when I signed up that is correct it was for marketing and practically giving my charms away free shipping some charms were at .25 and up and ran that special for 2 weeks. But what you have said is not at all correct. I do occasionally run specials and great deals but I post a large mix of different gift items and decor that is to selling. I do appreciate you advertising about my great prices. I do also have auctions on Overstock as well and am doing very well there to mostly selling large wholesale lots so I believe right now a mix is good. I did include some of my sales this weekend for you of items that I have sold on Bidville. That simply have not been processed yet but things are certainly looking up on Bidville and there are buyers 10533712 Nautical Blue Gree Onion Lantern Candle holder $8.99

I am an ex ebayer and bidviller and I am sorry but the friendly people are not at bidville, they are more like a cult than anything. And please do not try and act as if they have the best fees in town because just about every new auctionsite is free..

They not only charge you for things they are following in ebays footsteps. Not long ago they introduced their final value fees hhmm enjoy the next ebay I will stick with the sites that offer would bidville can not....

I do not care where anyone goes if you like them great I am happy :}

Some of the new sites and old sites here on this forum are nice and I am sure sooner or later someone will make it to the top, but it will be someone with a unique approach. So, as far as ioffer, bidville, onlineauction, eway, auctiongoat, bidchasser, etc, etc they are all doing basically the same thing and even though ebay sucks (we can all agree on that), none of these will ever make it to the top doing the same old thing. Not to say they might be successful on one level but to become a multibillion dollar company??? I think not.

Now, that's my 2 cents.....(not that anyone cares)

Ohh in case you think I am THE ONLY ONE have a look at this post;;

Anyway I like www.theauctionman.net I will stay there..

I for one agree with you junkman. Sorry if I hurt anybody with my comment!! BUT, I have been over there to check things out. And here the post FROM Gailsgoodies on that link you have, where she talks about Nancy is a total SLAM on her, mean, just plain mean. I wish someone would delete it.
I went to the boards at BV
and talk about complaining....
I KNOW I will not go there to sell. Checked out the boards and within about 3 minutes read about several that were leaving... also

This was posted:

INCREASE IN BIDVILLE BUYER TRAFFIC

(1)Traffic has been slow, no bids. Worst part is I recommended Bidville to someone, they came, they bid, got ripped of for almost $100. I`m told they can`t leave feedback or post to the boards her dismay. The seller has pretty mush stopped selling at BV as well. Can`t keep recommending BV if this is a regular happening. We got burn`t twice as well. What to do?

(2)Nope. I have been good about getting pretty steady bids, but now I cant even get bids, last week and this week. Got 1 bid so far on a .25 item.

(3) really hate the postings about people leaving BV. When I started looking for another sites to sell from, I read the post here and the perception was not good. Too many complaints about no sales or heading out

SO THERE U Have it.... right from the horses mouth....

And there has been much controversy about the stats BidVille claims on their front page..........so today I compiled (from BidVille site directly, the following information)

BidVille.com Home page stats reads
3,000,892 items listed
in 7,269 categories
and 642 stores!

Taken on March 17, 2005 @ 1:05 Eastern Standard Time

THE FOLLOWING IS A COMPLETE SNAPSHOT OF ALL STORES LISTED ALPHABETICALLY ON BIDVILLE.COM ON MARCH 17,2005.

For background reference as you check this list:
1. Stores listed below are those ONLY with ZERO feedback, AND no listed items in stores, AND no items listed in auctions. NO ACTIVITY AT ALL past or present can be determined.
2. Even if a store had nothing listed but had at least ONE feedback and/or ONE item listed as an auction and not a store listing, THEY ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS LIST.
3. Many stores not listed here were empty, no auction listings BUT had feedback from some prior activity.

The stores listed below my name only (no http address) are those that came up with this message when clicked on:
"There is an error in your request. Store not found"

So, the list below is truly ZERO activity of any kind noted either store or auction activity and no feedback.
AND the stores listed by name only, no http address are bad links and represent 17.9% of the 678 stores listed below. This does not match the claimed 642 stores found in the stats on the home page today. But if you were to take the 678 stores actually shown in the alphabetical listings, deduct the dead link name, the count would be 597 stores. However, there are many stores listed below where members joined back a couple years, no feedback, no activity, no auctions, no store listings so that tells us they are either paying $5 a month for nothing or BidVille has kept them in the data base for count purposes.

From personal experience:
When I closed my store (Original Threads), the pop up window said it would be there for 30 days then permanently removed - it never made it a week before it was totally purged from the system.

So does this mean that these stores are all recently 'closed' and still inside the 30 days? According to BidVille's own policy, yes. Although I find that hard to understand considering the data compiled.

TOTAL NUMBER OF STORES SHOWN TO BE ACTIVE ON BIDVILLE HOME PAGE STATS - 642
TOTAL NUMBER OF STORES WITH LINKS IN THE ALPHABETICAL LISTINGS ON SITE - 678
TOTAL NUMBER OF STORES WITH 'DEAD' LINKS (STORE NOT FOUND) - 81

update

Very interesting chain of events. The information on stores I posted here, I also posted to a thread in the STORES board on BidVille, it was moved to a sellers only board (out of sight). Ok.

BidVille removed all 152 of the dead stores too! Yup, they did. But the math is a problem I see, here is what I mean:

3/17 @1pm 678 stores listed on bidville alpha list
3/18 @6pm 526 stores listed on bidville alpha list

3/17 @1pm store stats front page reads 641 stores
3/18 @6pm store stats on front page reads 637

New math? LOL

Hi Amanda!

I'm sorry that BidVille pulled you in and spit you back out....all the while falling prey for the same thing I did.

The rah-rah and warm fuzzy welcomes are very deceiving aren't they?

And I was one of the BIGGEST rah-rahs the first couple weeks I was there

Then I started seeing things that just weren't 'right' - about management issues. Then of course what I initially ignored as minor spats between members came into focus as years long issues that get rehashed over and over and over again. And then I got flamed bigtime on the boards - not exactly a great atmosphere to do business in

Ok there are three other small, new sites but with EXCELLENT management for you to check out.

eBidMax.com
OnlineAuction.com
www.TheAuctionMan.net (I will be joining this one this weekend)

I also still have a few 'feeder' auctions on ebay only for the purpose of drawing customers to my other locations. And as we know, ebay has the traffic and the sales so no need to completely vacate, but I surely don't list like I used to over there

What I don't understand is how well BV should have been ready to run when the great upheaval began and how they sat back and did nothing to take advantage of the churning out from ebay that took place! They had been around 4 years - no advertising at all, no appeal to buyers at all.

Patches said she believed they are merely positioning themselves for a buyout, to appeal to someone higher on the auction foodchain to buy them out and they can pocket the money. I believe that more with each passing day too.

Their stat numbers are false, intentionally false. There are currently, as I type this 530 stores in the online listing of stores, but on the front page they show 638 - why? Because the truth is not relevant it seems.

Anyway, sorry for your lost time there, but at least now you can move on where management listens, ideas and recommendations are appreciated and often acted upon, where community boards are properly moderated, and fees are low :D

I wish you the very best!!! Let us know where you go through a PM message if you don't wish to reveal your ID's at other locations to the masses.

Nancy

Hope they give you something for the reference.

I don't care if they do, I don't even know if they have any program going or not. That's not the point of suggesting any of those sites to you - the bottom line is to be located at sites I can safely recommend :)

And having been through the trenches of the BidVille battleground, I am MUCH more careful where I go

Those three I recommended are well run, responses from staff are personal and helpful, not vague and inconsistent.........soooo refreshing!

I think we've all learned some valuable lessons as a result though, and those are lessons that have helped me in the long run. Painful lessons usually are :D
