| We have been selling on Amazon for about 5 years and had earned Featured Merchant status about 2 years ago with a Market Place account. We had decided to switch to a Pro Merchant account to take advantage of the extra features. When we switched, we were told that our feedback would not be transferred so expected some slow down in sales. What we didn't know was nothing from the past five years mattered. We no longer have Featured Merchant status. Would like to know if other sellers have gone through a similar experience and how long it took to bring your account back? Any suggestions on making the transition. |

That bites! I don't sell on Amazon anymore but hopefully someone who does will come along and answer your question.

I made the transition last March and the next three months were not so good for sales and it took a lot of work and some serious pricing strategy to get noticed. By June, I was again Featured Merchant in many categories, but those first sales were few and far between because you get lost beneath the Featured Sellers.
Since that time, I feel it was the best move that I made by moving to Seller Central. More options for personalizing shipping charges, Handling times, etc.
You are correct, your feedback and status does not follow you, so you start from zero. You hold your breath each day hoping that one of your buyers did not get up on the wrong side of the bed, thus jeopardizing your metrics.
If you are going to do it, do it now, or close to after Easter sales, when sales are usually in a downswing and you will be positioned for Christmas.

| Thanks for the comments. It's nice to know that in a few months it may be worth the effort. Sure makes things difficult right now. |

Yes it is hard and time consuming but it will be worth your while.
How are you moving over your inventory? |

| We took a download from our old account and then used the Amazon tool to reload into the new account. Our items got loaded but finding a lot of missing information that we have to go back and fix. |
