I have a few sites with the Google checkout module for virtuemart and its worked very well until now. Now add an item to the cart and this message appears:
Oops!
We were unable to process your request.
Time when the error happened: 2011-03-31T17:15:58 (UTC) (49fca72636790)
Any help here? |

Since this happened too all three of your sites at the same time can you check to see if there is anything wrong with your google checkout account? Make sure you are using the correct merchant key and id for the production server.
To test if there is anything wrong with the module you can setup a sandbox account at http://sandbox.google.com/checkout . Change your module to use that account and see if that works. |

Had the same thing happen to a customer trying to purchase on 2 of the 4 websites today - and I believe the time is approximately - my guess is a Google Hiccup - and on your end. Hope this helps so you're not driving youself crazy checking and rechecking your settings. At midnight CST 1 Apr it is now back to working properly.
but the explanation offered by PSUnite does make sense -however not this time as it was sporatic according to a few other sites/forums. |

| I am still getting the error now on 2/4/2011. No orders coming through for 3 days. This is some glitch. It would be helpful if the error message was a little more descriptive perhaps. I hadnt been tinkering with anything on the site so am really stumped - very frustrating! |

I'm guessing I've the same issue.
There's a post on the google checkout forum saying "Solution is to change UK to GB as I believe the ISO list has been updated. Google use this list:"
So how can I change the location to GB? The setup in virtuemart already has GB in jos_vm_country. Where does the module retrieve country from? |

| My client's site is suffering the same problem. It's all the latest: J 1.5.22, VM 1.1.8. See attachment. Can anybody advise how to change the code in <country>UK</country> to GB? |

First things first - I'm sorry about the long image; I thought it would be an attachment.
Secondly - please, please does anyone know how to change "UK" to "GB". I've looked everywhere.

The required change is in the encrypted file googlecheckout.php so I had to contact the guys at PSU who supplied a new version very quickly. Big thanks to them.
My client's almost back off the ceiling now ;-)

Google made a change to their API which changed a country code that effects the UK.
Attached is a fix. Just replace with this googlecheckout.php. |

Dear PSU Team,
Sorry to drag this one out a bit more. My client is having discussions with Google about some compensation (don't hold your breath) and Google are saying they changed nothing. You said "made a change to their API which changed a country code that effects the UK". I infer this is not a direct change to the country codes; is it possible to detail what changes you had to make to googlecheckout.php to help us pin down what they did?
