I have a store on ecrater, well two. I did a test, accepted Google checkout on one but not the other.

The items without Google checkout doesn't really get any hits, except the ones I generate by posting on FB, Twitter and so on.

The items with Google checkout, organic hits are generated, via Google, I guess. These hits do not result in many purchases.

The hits I generate, result in purchases (most of the time) funny because the items i advertise aren't the ones that are purchased. People pick up other things, go figure...I am just thrilled to get a sale.

My questions is this, if you do not use GOOGLE Checkout on ecrater are your items blacklisted from the Google search or put down really really low in the search arena?

Either way is fine with me, I just like to know exactly what I'm dealing with and how to move forward.

I am an experienced seller and have enjoyed the success with alternate sites...Any info would be much appreciated.

Use Google Analytics to know where your shoppers are coming from.

I wouldn't call it blacklisting BUT
I remember reading on google itself that google product search (not a website search) uses a formula that included google checkout.
Attributes are also an important part.

My Ecrater store doe not accept GCO. My items still appear in search at a healthy acceptable level most of the time.

The items of mine at EC that do not appear near the top, but below other headings are one where there are other mentions of the item at powerful sites. As an example, if the item was at ebay or amazon, or some other fancy site, and has sold out there, and I currently have it in stock for sale, my item will often be listed under everyone else's even if I am the only one with the item on hand. That's right, my "Like New" or "Stone Mint" copy of a rare LP priced better than anyone else's, will appear below a listing that is no longer in stock, because that website keep the "place card" in it's listings - like ebay and Amazon do. So buyers will click on Amazon's mention and see "not currently available" & "we don't know when this item will be back in stock" under the heading.

Then way down the list, my item (at Ecrater) will be there, and be in stock, and be priced better than Amazon or ebay ever had it priced at.

If there is no place card for the item at the river or bay, and no other sites have had it in stock in recent months or years, then my item will appear at the top of the Google search. And this is as said without accepting GCO as payment.

So I do not think GOC or no GCO matter too much in search, at least not as much as it matters that the bay or river once had it, and have first dibs on pecking order with Google.

Thankfully, I have a ton of stock in my store that the river and ebay do not have, have not had, and will likely not get anytime soon. So Google is doing fine enough by me. It's the buyers who would rather pay 50% higher prices and get it from Amazon (if they can), then buy it from my EC store.
