Junkables.com is on Online Antique store where members can buy and sell their antiques and vintage collectibles with no seller fees of any kind, has a new design and would like for everyone to let us know what they think about it. Junkables is trying hard to be user friendly for sellers and buyers alike.

It's a nice site. However, for me I don't like referring to antiques and collectibles as junk. So your name is a turn-off for me. Sorry.

Thank you so much for your advice on the name Junkables - we were discussing names and at that time Junking was a big word being used at the time - Meaning people that were going out in barns and old houses and finding great antiques and collectibles. it seemed like the name would be easy to remember and unique as far as antique websites. We do not use the word to describe the antiques or collectibles - it is used more of a way of going about finding something that is a great find somewhere besides an antique shop or going to an auction.
I myself love to go to old barns and old houses and pick through them finding great things. Most items that i have found in barns have been great antiques or collectibles.

I agree with others - the name isn't so marketable and I'd think about a new name. Nice service though, similar to my own.

Hey Junkables,

Welcome to my world. Nice web site you have and I will keep track of it to see if traffic is building to it.

I built my own store site not to long ago and am trying to build traffic to it. Takes years! I don't have many antiques, a few but not many. My store is a true "Junk Store".

I'm always looking places to sell as others are also. Buyer traffic is king and nothing else matters even though your site is good looking.

Thanks!

I have been selling on junkables for almost a year now. When I first started it was slow. Since then i've sold many items and continue to sell.

I just wanted to say something about the name junkables. I really do not think a name makes a website. Let me ask anyone that wants to reply. When your searching something on the net do you know each and every site that might have the item your searching? No we don't. People search items not website names. And if you find what your searching for at the price you want it for does the site name interfere weather or not you would purchase it? I know it wouldn't matter to me what name the site is. Do you remember when ebay started? What kind of name is that? Now it's a household name and people , some like that name. I've seen many excuses people make to not try it but the reasons are silly at best. Once google picks up your items that's the most important part of online selling. And junkables has very high ratings in google search engines. Remember nothing ventured nothing gained. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE

Yeah some antiques have very high value. They're never considered junk. You might want to change the domain name or start selling junk like unwanted stuff lying around you garage.

Yes the name will not work for me ans a seller and a buyer. Buyers of Antiques are a bit more discerning, and yes If I landed on the site from a search engine and saw the name I would think twice about the venue and why it has that name, that does not mean I would look look further at the item but I would be stalled a bit by the name.

Since nothingnew spoke up about how you get buyers to the venue, and that is through search engines, there really is no need to sign up we all can get buyers from search engines, so the venue is not bringing anything to the table for sellers just a bad name to be associated with.

Sorry you really need to re think that name.

I just checked google and the venue junkables has nothing in the google shopping search engine. What this tells me is the the venue does not even submit any items to google shopping. Google regular search craws every web-site anyways so what ever a seller uses at any venue would get the same if not better results, depending on the value if the venue to google.

The registration and the sign in pages do not appear to be secured. Sellers and buyer personal info is at risk when you do not secure these pages.

The word collectible is spelled with an A instead of an I.

The venue is billing itself as an great alternative to ebay in big letters on the home page? Who are you marketing to here with this? Why would you even mention ebay? It gives the buyer another place to look before they purchase. I can only assume that most of the traffic is from search engines, and now you have given the buyer a reason to look elsewhere.

I went ahead and looked around and I guess a buyer could eventually figure out how this sites works but it is a bit difficult for me to figure out and I am an experienced buyer and seller on the internet. There does not seem to be any stores and certainly no seller branding that I could see. When I look at a listing page it is not very appealing to my eyes. The dark background just does not seem right to me, and the layout of the sections on the page are not very well thought out IMO.

I am not sure why you are using a Google internal search. When you use this feature it takes you to a new tab with all the items for the search term, and them you get redirected back to the venue when you click one of the items you were searching for. It is not all that bad I just am not sure why you have it setup this way?

Internet buyers have been trained to look for things a certain way and when they see this completely different way to navigate, and listing structure it does not bode well for confidence when they are shopping

I would like to see this venue address some of these things, as they are important things to experienced sellers. I hope they can make it as I see the niche market they are going after a good one, and there is certainly room for another e-commerce venue in this market.
