Ok my new ecrater store open for a week or so and sales have been very good there. Sales have been all my existing customers i sent there through my website address that is a mirror to the ecrater store. A sale is a sale regardless of where it comes from. I just include my simple web address with all orders i fill from all sales at other sites. the two work together and a great combo i might add. I use Ecrater for a lot things but the SIMPLE --search, thumbnails, payment systems, google shopping, accounting system are the items i like best.
Questions? is this ecrater.uk a good thing? worth trying it? anyone here have a working UK store. I signed up to UK option thinking all stock from US store would go into it but it seems you have to stock separately each store?
and.. what is the item number limit of items you can put in an Ecrater store? is it 5,000? |

About the eCrater UK. I have 2 sales some months ago.
The US & UK store are the same. It just like another mirror. If you want to have the UK version with items. It is needed to add UK in the shipping table, add the Pound sterling (GBP), and add GBP value to the items.
Any item without the GBP will not show in the UK version. It is nice because you can control the items that you don't sell International.
In the eCrater forum a lot of people reported sales in the UK site from US buyers. Amazing! |

As far as I know, there is no limit to the number of items you can list at Ecrater. One of the sellers who posts a lot in the forums has over 7,000, I do know that.
I followed your ProStores saga with great interest because I was considering going with them as well. Thanks for your honest appraisals. I'm still not sure which way to go, but I don't think I'll go there.
I'm still trying to learn my way around here, so I hope that if there is a problem with this post, someone will kindly let me know.
Thanks,
Becky |

Thanks Becky, it helps to know if the numbers are limited though at this point I am at 280... lol. I live in the desert (las vegas) and I generally list and design during the hot months tho i did get out on a hike this morning... 50+ mph winds but it was a lot of fun and cool for a change. I have a little Druzy quartz mine out there and hit the jackpot there this morning (not like the fake jackpots in las vegas)
I dont think you can do much wrong here at PSU except being rude and you certainly are not that. Thanks again for Ecrater numbers info as its a good thing to have room to grow. jerry |

Jerryb, no problem. I recommend you check and search the eCrater forum is a good place for support and FAQs.
As far I can see over there isn't cheerleader forum. You ask a good question and you get a good answer from the other sellers. But like always some new sellers in the site ask strange questions. For example:
1) I'm a old prehistoric veteran selling electronics, where is the UPC of my items?
2) I'm an ex-ultra mega power seller for 10 years, how I can make sales?
3) I opened my store 1 day ago, why I don't have sales?
And a lot more of strange questions. But as I said befroe if you have a good questions you will be get a good answer.
wtcollectibles, your post is ok. |

I don't think that is correct. But I don't do the UK side.
I think you already have your answer on the ecrater forum.

Unlimited ... truly unlimited.
I've seen stores with over 10,000 items. |

Jerry I'm so glad to see an active EC cheerleading thread! I love EC! I set up the UK feed also but it was confusing since I could not enable my entire store without editing all the shipping information. I use fixed shipping because in the past I've sold a lot of heavy items. I was able to set up my sewing patterns and it was working Very well for me - although I shut it down during the holidays because orders were getting lost. I guess the holiday rush is a bit overwhelming when shipping internationally.
Howdy Beck wtcollectibles - it's Diana aka Frilly Pad :D
And as always great to see you elpereles
I'm seriously considering closing my website down and moving everything to EC - it's so easy to list and dependable! |

Hi Hotnana, thanks! Yes i like ecrater also. I closed a few stores down and am starting a new one now. fresh and new
I would suggest you look into perhaps keeping your website but using it as a stepping stone to the Ecrater store and using Ecrater in the same manner? It seems to work for me. I have rubberstamp made up that i stamp all outgoing shipments from "other sites" and I tell people "New inventory only listed here"with link to my website which is linked to each item at ecrater. in time it will pay off. got a couple very nice orders so far and the site is only 2-3 weeks old. one was a large order, PP invoice and other was larger order thru ecrater system shopping cart - so simple
when you get to my website i have all items at ecrater (and ecrater.uk) listed there with links to item on ecrater to buy or use the ecrater shopping cart. For my stamps i sell if you want thumbnails you have to go to ecrater or for search you use ecrater search links on my website.
I also offer paypal invoices from my website but no shopping cart except ecrater. The system seems a bit odd and strange but it works. I can list a lot of items at my website/and a copy to ecrater very quickly and linked together. I have a few more websites on the internet that i use to blog about the main site on certain subjects as this add greatly to google search placement over time. But the goal is to get the sale- where ever. In very short time i will have 5-10k items on both sites - and FREE - gotta love the free part of ecrater.
And websites are very cheap these days. i use hostgator unlimited number of different websites/unlimited storage/bandwidth for under $10 a month.
I rarely ever put links here on psu but http://jerryburkhart.com |

Jerry,
Thanks for the link to your site! I was very curious to see how you set it up, because it sounded like a step up from the basic "doorway" page that a lot of us have made already. (and it is) Given me food for thought.
Very nicely done and I had not really looked much at hostgator, but I will now!
And howdy back at you, Frilly!! :-)

Hello hotnana! I also suggest keep your website because with these new Google rules the Alternatives sites are getiing to the button in search.
Jerryb, it is nice how you use your site to move traffic to your eCrater store. I believe BigT use a similar method. |

Hello dear elpereles it's like a cat fight in Google right now!
For a while I thought Google was a search bar for Ebay or Etsy!! I sell mainly vintage and craft items, I've done well with my website, but since all the Google changes... well I'm just not feeling the love anymore.
I will probably keep my site but will be looking at other viable options as well. Google tends to "love" certain sites more than others -
This is another hosting service I've been checking out-----

Thanks a lot for kind comments. I know i am very limited in what I can do as far as html is concerned and beyond html... forget it. I do know how to do the basic html things tho and that is really all that is needed to get job done of providing a place for people to come buy products.
now I just need to list lots things at a decent price. The "other Site" is so expensive to maintain a store and the buyers are getting cheaper as they know we need to sell to pay those fees. A website for inventory sales instead of inventory parking is a dream of mine for years. I get sidetracked so easy though.
Has anyone come up with a good "Discount offer coupon" program or system for website/ecrater that you are willing to share with rest of us? |
