I noted today that iOffer no longer accepts html. They have stripped all html out of all ads. Have a look. They are pretty much illegible now. It is too bad as I have made great sales on iOffer but I expect that will now end. I simply am not willing to change over 3,000 ads. That is why I left ebay in the first place, the constant changes.

Chances are IOffer is trying to circumvent the fee avoiders. Everyone knows that over half of IOffer is counterfeits, and these dishonest folks will gladly add "Buy Now" buttons to bypass the Ioffer checkout. This will stop that, links, and probably quite a few virus redirects.
I've read that IOffer is a 3 man show, so there's no way they can check every single listing, so this may be a good move for them to lessen their workload. Bad for honest sellers though.

It is possible but they should have checked a few before doing the whole site. If you have a look you can see that the ads are pretty much impossible to read. Certainly I wouldn't buy from a seller with a poor ad like that as it makes the seller and the site look incompetent. If they can't do something, I will probably have to dump my ads.

I looked you up on IOffer and I see that you're html appears all in tact on about a dozen listings. The listing designers and backgrounds all look like they are in place, photos and animations are there, and the text isn't all plain text. All links also work. Maybe it's your browser or computer? I am using Google Chrome and it all looks ok to me.

I had a look using Chrome and IE and they are the same. Look at item 151878315 not even remotely legible.

I have fantastic sales on iOffer but I expect that will now stop.

If you are thinking that templates are what sell your items, then yes, you will probably lose sales. However, it is not what sells your items. Good descriptions with the right prices sell items. Are you selling a pretty picture with pretty fonts or are you selling an item?

I looked at several of your items, every one was legible, including the item number you listed in the abouve post. I'm on IE 8. and I looked at it in FF5, and found this link...

Notice: You are leaving iOffer
Do not continue if you are being asked to make a purchase, or pay for an item on a non-iOffer website. Both are common signs of fraud.

I realize that good people have to pay for the sins of those who think the rules don't apply to the. I applaud Ioffer for removing the HTML, I've been thinking about it also, for the reasons of hidden text and links.

I also sell a bit on IOffer, and taking away the HTML for Item descriptions was done shoddily and was a kick in the teeth to Sellers there.

First off, it's all well and good if IOffer wanted to do away with this option, it's their site and they can run it how they wish. But by simply taking it away from existing descriptions, it totally messed up every item's page formatting and put strange breaks, indentations, and paragraph breaks in weird and strange places now.

Not only that, but it seems to have changed the price of my Shipping for various items because they decided to change that, too.

There's a reason that Advertising and Marketing are a billion dollar industry in this country, and that's because how you "sell", or present an item is just as important as what that item is. I really feel some of my sales were because I gave detailed descriptions of my items that resulted in a sale where others just threw the same item up with hardly any description. I never went as crazy as some Sellers did with the HTML options, but I really think having the options to BOLD, UNDERLINE, use certain COLORS, etc., was a definite plus and helped me emphasize certain aspects of my item I felt Buyers should be more aware of. Hell, you can do these simple things in Word (and on Ebay, too), and taking them away from Sellers is a step backward, not forward for IOffer.

And one last thing, still slightly on-topic... Does IOffer REALLY have to make changes seemingly every week or two?!?! They really are too tweak-happy with changing how things appear and are used on that site. I only began selling early this year and I swear there must have been a half-dozen or so MAJOR changes to various aspects of the site since then. Haven't these website administrators got it through there heads yet how annoying this is to their users?

That link I posted was under a statement that said "to see the the content of this book..." So... the html isn't gone.

Here's another marvelous screw-up that's appeared after the html wipe-out...

I've been trying to edit some of my items to clean up their messy look (thanks to the removal of the html), and I've tried for three different items and after hitting the Submit Changes button, for all of them I've gotten an error message saying I need to fill in the fields with red asteriks because data is required for them...even thought there's already data in the boxes!

I've tried changing the data in those boxes slightly so it will register as an update, but that won't register either.

Way to go, IOffer. So glad you morons know how to do proper Beta testing.

Let me repeat this again... If I found a link in an item under a word, then html wasn't removed.

In previous posts about Ioffer, they weren't showing up in Google searches nor products. Evidently they decided to get listed again. but google products, the find and bing doesn't allow html, so if you are getting sales from the aggregates, then the html to enhance the borders or text is fluff that really isn't needed.

Ditto, can't edit any items including my store message. It has been one problem after another this week with ioffer, hopefully they are ironing out the bugs as I type.

I agree, my ads are a complete mess. And to top it all off, I tried to fix some ads and I can no longer edit. When I try, the description completely disappears. So I have written them again about that but they are probably swamped with email so I guess it all has to wait.

Is it working again for anyone yet ? Still broken here. Also worse now is that some of my listings now have all the text shoved together with no breaks at all, even though yesterday it was okay. I have no idea what is going on. I wish they would put it on their help-desk as a known bug as otherwise I have no idea if they are working on it or not.

Wow - I haven't listed anything there for a couple of years, but their site change seems to have resurrected my last lasting and made it active again.

The international buyers really think shipping is that cheap? Hee.
