|
|
Just started experimenting with an ecrater store.
I went through the steps to purchase an item (from myself) to see
what it looks like to the buyer.
1) After placing an order for one of my items, I notice that it is still listed.
I assume that you have to manually delete sold items. Is this correct?
2) It requires that buyers enter their phone number when placing an order. This may be a little more information than most buyers want to
provide. I would not buy if I had to give out my phone number to the
seller.
3) If a buyer is paying by money order, ecrater issues a warning:
"Warning. Money Order Involves Very High Risk For Buyer"
What a great way to boost sales.........Geeeesshhhhhh
4)Is there a link from stores back to the ecrater homepage? A link to
sellers admin area from the main store page? The site is hard to navigate. I would recommend more links. |

When a site asks for my phone number and I don't want to give it out I always put 867-5309 (Jenny) they can bother her!!!
The money order thing...well with all the fake ones out there I can understand the warning. Most people I sell too always use Paypal anyways.
Have a great evening!

Way down in the bottom left corner is a tiny link back to ecrater home page.
Powered by eCRATER - a free online store builder. Only the second half of the line is clickable though.
I would like to see a way to search for stores or member ID's. If I'm missing something, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. :? |

I don't see any way to tell what items have been ordered from you. Is the email the only record of sales?
I assume that the item is not deleted because ecrater is set up as a regular online retail outlet - they assume you have multiples of the same item. When I sold an item elsewhere, I used "hide item" on ecrater, because I'll have more eventually so I don't want to have to recreate the item listing. |

Mystictiger77;
I agree and eCrater is set up well for PayPal payments. I have some
"adult" items where I'm not allowed to accept PayPal.
On the positive side......I placed identical posts on ecrater and googlebase.
The ecrater post showed up on Froogle. The googlebase post did not show up.
It seems that Google has given up on their googlebase project. Hard to
tell with Google, since they have an aversion to promoting anything they
do.
I would definitely recommend eCrater for anyone looking to create an online store. |

How do you "hide" an individual item on ecrater? I don't see that option anywhere under admin options.
Please help... i sold my 1st Ecrater item tonight (yea!), but haven't heard from the buyer and they haven't paid. I don't want to "delete" the listing and then have to recreate it in case they turn out to be a NPB... :? |

| Go to your "products" listing and then edit the item you have sold. You can check the "hide item" line. The only problem is that the item then disappears even for the person who bought it, so it's not a perfect solution. |

Thanks CompassRose. I must be BLIND! I looked at that edit item page several times and DID NOT SEE that Hide item line...geez.
Actually I posted the same question on the ecrater forum and BigTallMensClothing suggested putting a "SOLD" photo instead of deleting or hiding the item, so the buyer can still see it (as you said.)
Thanks for your response :) |

| I'm glad that was helpful, and I want to note for the record that there is now an "orders" section in the Admin page that let's you see orders and mark them as paid. |

| I did notice this the other day (and liked it real well) - :D :D !! That's a great feature - having the orders all in one area - easy to find - complete with shipping details/info! |
