Hello, I go by booyaka2020 on ebay. only 1300+ positive feedback.

I have never had a negative! Only 1 neutral.

The 1 neutral I got because a guy won 5 records off me and paid the auto invoice each time, which charged shipping. I refunded shipping over charge and he still leaves me 5 1 stars for shipping over charge, plus the neutral.

Then ebay starts hounding me with warnings about my performance. sends me these warnings for 6 months. I sell sporadically and just last month had a record go for $700.00 and ebay did not hold my funds, they were happy to get the 9%.

Today, I sell a item for $12.00 and ebay is now holding my funds for 3 weeks. I call customer service and explain to them what they happened, they do not care. As a result I pulled everything I had up for auction and am DONE forever with ebay

I will NEVER sell on or buy n ebay again. Ever!

People need to stop rolling over whenever ebay craps on the seller. Just leave, ebay is not the only game in town.

The problem is that sellers "leave" ebay for a while, try other sites, don't sell much and go back to ebay.

Ebay know this, and this is why they can screw us.

Until we all leave them at once for a few months.

I sell primarily records. I have been transitioning to Discogs for the last 2 years. It is working like a charm!

Also I refuse to buy off ebay!

I guess I understand if ebay is the only game in town to move specific items, but for music there are at least 3 viable other sites where I can move my product.

BTW I am still waiting for ebay to give me my money, even though I have received positive feedback form all the buyers (items sold 2 weeks ago, on a couple items I still have to wait another 2 weeks - 4 week hold!)

I cannot speak for anyone else, but sometimes in life I have to take a stand. I do not take kindly to bullys.

As an example of how well discogs is working from Oct. 17 until now (less than 36 hours). I have had 7 sales with a gross of $190.00. Discogs takes 6%, 3% less than ebay.

So what do I need ebay for?

Booyaka,

glad you found another site to sell on and it is working! It does my heart good to hear anyone who has left Feebay and is thriving. As I`ve said before,Feebay abandoned its very roots by running off the little guys who helped them get where they are today.I still say a day of reckoning is coming and one day the giant will fall and only have itself to blame.

Best of Luck!

Bravo. The time is long past due for individuals to take control of their industry!

Thanks to the World Wide Web we no longer need to deal with corporate vultures, and vampires.

Somehow ebay has tricked millions of people into believing that they are the only option for small business online commerce. Ebay is a fraud and the more intrepid business savvy people that realize this and strike out on their own the better.

But at the current rate it is going to take about 20 years before most people realize this and take action.

Listings keep going up.
Other sites bubble along at the same level.
Individual websites struggle to get hits.

Quick note, I just tried to finally close my account and ebay would not let me because "I recently made a payment to ebay" I need to wait 30 days after the payment.

Hilarious.

I just want to rid all contact with ebay.

I unsubscribed to all their spam crap, and marked all their emails sent over the last year as spam.

Listing keep going up?

Sad and a embarassing indictment on the intellect of humanity as a whole.

2 years ago I thought about doing an ebay alternate, but like hasd been stated here so often, you need millions in expected advertising to satisfy the sellers before you see dollar 1 in income. With a niche site like mine, I was able to get ad contracts for 6 medieval/ren fair mags with a total circulation of 220,000 (lots of overlap), and it will run ne $200 a quarter. I grew up before computers were a big deal, I'm 48, but I've always seemed to have a knack for using the mass connectivity of the web effectively. I was the first SCA armourer on ebay, for 10 years leading the way for other medieval product merchants to escape being stuck driving 400 miles to an event to scape out $300 in net sales. I plan to startat 5% FVF, no upfront, and a simple script. I plan, in my full viking garb to make a you tube ad on why I'm starting this business and how it can help. If we grow and succeed, there is a town 8 miles from me, Jacumba,CA, that once has a 5000 population, now 450, hence there is a decrepid downtown with a few abandoned 3-4 floor office buildings that can rent for $400/month, but the whole town is on high speed At&T fiber optic.

Bottom line, you won't bring down ebay, but you can inflict a death of 10000 cuts. Peel off 100,000 listing here and there, and it will become noticeable. Ebay maks, as a stand alone entity what say, $1Bill, if I pull $15K doing this, I'm good

I am an 11 year Ebay seller. I have always tried to excel in my seller performance. I have found this to be a total waste of time since Ebay added all of the listing visibility criteria- Best Match and those rediculous DSRs have ruined the wonderful auction site we USED to know.

Ebay is no longer the Ebay we used to know, and, no doubt, THAT Ebay is gone forever. Only the very high-volume sellers will succeed on Ebay now.

We keep struggling- we keep trying- but I've been assured by Ebay's customer service that if I don't list at LEAST one thousand items per month (or did he say WEEK?) then I will fail. :?: He said the 'small seller' will soon be gone from Ebay.

A few months ago, I (again) lost my TRS status- thanks to apparently two-faced buyers- leaving glowing feedback, and then dinging the HECK out of my DSRs. They STILL think a '3' or '4' is a good score.

I ship quickly- even though I allow 3 days for shipping, the majority of my packages DO go out the same day. THIS does NOT insure that the USPS will deliver quickly- and if they are delayed, it's reflected on MY DSR score. Is this fair?

Today Ebay informed me that my SELLING PERFORMANCE is below standard. They took away my Power Seller status. My performance is right-on, and I do ALL in my power to keep my customers happy. I think my feedback reflects this. My DSRs do not.

Ebay KNOWS that by allowing a buyer to ANONYMOUSLY rate a seller's DSR scores- that some unsavory buyers WILL do this, just because they CAN. Our competition takes full advantage of this.

You sell a beautiful pair of size 9-1/2 heels to someone who says they do not fit them- You give them a FULL refund- including shipping both ways- and they DING your 'As Described' ?? (After leaving good feedback)

You ship a package (rushing like crazy to get it shipped same day as paid) and due to the flooding, evacuations, and weather disasters, the package takes three weeks to arrive. Seller is happy with purchase, but angry at the time it took to arrive- DSR score on ship time is DINGED??

ALL of this results in MY seller performance being 'below standard'- These buyers are in complete control of MY business and my profits fall- my visibility puts my listings far below others which are ending later than mine- is this fair?

Today, I closed my store. I am finally learning that there is no place for me on Ebay. Good luch to the NEW EBAY- it isn't for me...or for any small seller anymore. Betty Lou

I guess some people do well with online sales and others don't. Retail businesses are always at the mercy of the buyers, online or otherwise.

So, Betty Lou, did you really close your store this time?

Yes- I REALLY closed it. I REALLY closed it once before and decided to give it another try. I was getting more sales for awhile- this time- but due to my poor seller performance (?) my visibility and sales have come to a halt once again- a losing battle. Can't see paying that 'Store' monthly fee and having my items placed with low visibility.

My sales have dropped to 50% of what they were. I'm doing nothing differently. Betty Lou
