ebay has now all but removed photos from listings after the item closes in favor of tons of "you might also like" ads.

All there is is a tinier than normal thumbnail with a big "ended" logo across it making the item very hard to see! No big photo, no details, so scammers can now show a pretty item and send you an item that's not as nice and unless you save the big photo, your screwed!

Thanks ebay!

A very big issue if you are a buyer.

I contacted Ebay support on this matter as I also was upset after buying a larger lot of 50+ items that had numerous pictures (7-8) and realised all the pictures except a tiny deformed one was forever gone. The seller could simply remove any of the items in the additional pictures and claim they were not part of the lot. Just another reason as a seller to always insert a copy of your pictures in the body of the listing via your own pic hosting-- as it also protects you as a seller to have documentation of what was sold and the condition and other important visual details of it. I see lots bad DSR's coming out this for sellers.

I guess the only temp solution is to download ever picture you can of every lot you bid on in case you win it- once you win a lot or BIN it is too late to download the pics. I will be doing this until this moron move is fixed.

I was told by phone support it will be fixed as they will be adding links to the original photos but they have no date as to when this will be done. I suggest everyone it bothers to call these support people.

this is by far the dumbest thaing i have ever seen ebay do... all for greed of advertizing page space.

for the time being you can still find closed listings viewable the old way on amazon .au and .uk. just enter the item number.

i failed to mention that in my rant.

The new smaller info is at the top of the page.... to see the old larger illustrations just scroll down to the bottom of the page. Yes, they are still there.

NOPE! - They actually changed it back to the old system already. I've never seen them undo something that fast before! Though I am sure its only temporary until its rolled out across all platforms and they screw every one.
