eBay was known for its strong community of buyers and sellers, but eBay has removed many of the traditional features such as the Chatter newsletter and moderators, known as "pinks," over the past 3 years. This month it is killing off yet another community feature with the impending demise of chat rooms.
"On or around October 14th, 2011, eBay will be closing access to this chatboard technology. Members may find interest in the eBay Answer Center, another eBay Forum, or may choose to join or create a public or private eBay Group. Be sure to check out the entire eBay Community for a full range of venues where you can get answers to questions, and stay connected."

You have to see the humor in this. lol.
Sites across the internet have discovered the truth.. Freedom of speach does not apply to private buisness, especially internet ones. Expect to see a LOT more of this sort of thing in the future with all sites. Once all people's voices and inter communications are stifled then a buisness has no fear to do anything they want to you, especially if they have a full team of lawyers on staff. :-) their unstated mantra.. if you don't like it leave.
Believe me Ebay is not the only company doing this sort of thing and perhaps it is a lot better to do it this way than to do some the things other sites have done that are so low down and rotten it is funny. No human decency exist in the buisness world for the most part.
Most sites solution to anything said they dont like is remove the individual poster from the forums. I was recently removed from the Delcampe forums for pointing out the short comings of their site... a notice of a ban of 19 years. lol. No reply to the site problems i brought up except to tell me to be quiet and be a team player and by the way you are now banned for 19years from posting on our site. :-) I always follow the rules when posting on a board as you can see i have no problems here. there was absolutely no reason to remove me from stating the truth there politely except that they did not like me exposing their problems. So you can add Delcampe.com and delcampe.net to the long list of buisnesses that have decided People have NO rights to speak out or complain. People from the 60's had a name for people like this. |

This same thing happened to many sellers at the overstock auctions years ago. They paid their dues, sold, bought, supported the O auctions but management rarely ever upgraded any of thee sites issues.
Sellers complained, management promised improvements to which never happeend, sellers were banned from the public forums for complaining and eventually the O auctions closed.
Site owners MUST listen to their supporters and make changes if they wish to keep their doors open IMHO.
19 years????? |

| Jerryb is right. Companies don't care about people opinion. Many of their forums are just like a "Matrix". |
