I have not been selling on ioffer for months but am surprised to find that ioffer no longer uses paypal to transact money transfer for goods and services offered/sold at ioffer.. was there a falling out between the 2 behemoths or was it simply economic sense to drop paypal?..I heard the service they now use in place of paypal charges even a higher fee?

Probably got dropped from PayPal because they carry so much Illegal Items(Copies, knockoffs, etc.) and wouldn't do anything to get rid of them

I know they don't take Paypal anymore for invoice payments, but I got 2 Paypal payments for orders from ioffer today.

It isn't a surprise if you read this old info.

Good catch elpereles. Article was dated Sept 1, 2011.
First four paragraphs lay it all out for readers:

iOffer recently dropped PayPal as a method for sellers to pay fees, but sellers on Boocoo Auctions now have the option pay their seller fees via PayPal.

Boocoo Auctions said sellers have been requesting that it add the ability to pay fees via PayPal. (Boocoo charges a final value fee of 6% with no listing fees.) If sellers don't send their PayPal payment, Boocoo will charge their credit card automatically according to its normal schedule - see Boocoo announcement.

Meanwhile, online marketplace iOffer is no longer accepting PayPal as a way for sellers to pay fees as of August 15, 2011, and added added Alert Pay as a payment method for shoppers. Several posts on PissedConsumer.com claim iOffer removed the option abruptly with no warning to sellers and claim AlertPay is more costly to them.

iOffer did not respond to inquiries, but did respond to a complaint on Pissed Consumer on August 23 with the following message:

I have to stand corrected here. I checked my ioffer listings and the Paypal logo has DISAPPEARED from all of them. The only option to pay now is by credit card (which is done through Paypal). There was NO notice and NO information ANYWHERE about this change.

On another front SELL.COM has also screwed the sellers. Where you would click on "buy Now" and get sent to Paypal, now they are using a moronic shopping cart. They still accept Paypal, but it's 4 additional steps to get there - including typing in your shipping address which you shouldn't have to do with Paypal. SALES ARE DOWN 40% SINCE THIS FIASCO!!!

Also same with NO notice and NO info anywhere on site.

DOESN'T ANYONE EVER DO ANYTHING THAT ACTUALLY BENEFITS A SELLER??

And just in time for Christmas season --- Thanks a lot!

notime2play, are you saying people can't pay with their PayPal balance/account any more ? I got an order through today via PayPal but I can't tell if it was from a credit card of their Paypal account.

That's what it looks like. Paypal logo disappeared from all my listings. Now just the credit card logos are there.

Just tried to pay as a guest and PayPal has been dropped even for buyers it seems, only thing showing on the checkout is credit cards. Same for anyone else today ? Had a customer asking if I dropped it so I checked. I think it was still an option before just only on the checkout and not the listing.

I was just on IOffer and I noticed this about the dropped PayPal too...

But what made me FIRST go ballistic was...ANOTHER FRIGGIN RE-DESIGN of the whole site!! Jesus, how many times have they done this THIS YEAR already? Three, or was it four? A site format re-design is not a trivial matter--you'd think at least someone in the upper echelon there would be smart enough to say "we're only going to OK *ONE* re-design for this year, and it better be DONE RIGHT the first time or someone's gonna lose their job! God, there's nothing more annoying to users of a site than logging in and finding all the features and options you've been used to are either moved around or now gone. Is IOffer TRYING to run their company into the ground? Sure seems like it...

As for the PayPal disappearing from Item Payment options... They have definitely got to be out of their friggin minds if this is the case. But before I curse them on this, does anyone know if this could possibly be a by-product of the site's re-design, and maybe somehow PayPal got dropped by accident? I only ask because I looked at my Seller's "Payment options accepted" and that still has my PayPal option listed. Also, there's nothing in the "Annoucements" saying PayPal was getting dropped, and that's a pretty big deal. Of course, most of what IOffer does seems to be poorly thought-out, so knowing their M.O. they probably didn't even consider posting an annoucement or removing the PayPal option from the seller's option.

I've been a buyer on IOffer for about 3 years, and a Seller since early this year, and this year has to be the most retarded management of a website I think I've ever seen on the Internet. Screwing around with the options and the look of the site EVERY FEW MONTHS must anger the crap out of people who try and navigate their site semi-frequently. What kind of morons are running/working at that place?

The last thing I bought on ioffer was a pair of expensive mukluk boots from China- I was told that they had to invoice me twice- once for the boots and once for the shipping- I said "Fine". They invoiced me for the boots- which I paid immediately- and THEN invoiced me for the shipping AND the boots, again- Which I DIDN'T PAY (PAY FOR BOOTS TWICE?) Then it showed that I hadn't paid at ALL for my order- WHAT a mess- Support finally got it straightened out for me, but I've never bought from that site since- and prefer NOT to deal with CHINA. Well I had about 10 sales on ioffer this week. A couple of the notices I got actually had the customers invoice attached. And the "Pay With Paypal" option was on BOTH invoices, not only once. but twice. And all sales were paid by Paypal.

Still not sure why PP logos disappeared from the listings. Maybe it's just part of the redesign glitch.

Will wait for the next chapter.....
