Hello,
Normally when I have a buyer claim an item was not received which has happened twice in two years I just ask them to wait another week, and if it still have not shown up I refund.
This time, it is an item that with shipping comes to about $60, and was sent internationally to a distant country that I had never sent anything to before. A real out of the way place, and I had reservations about it when sending even, but what can you do.
I got the message last Friday, and today they messaged back, still not arrived to their friend's address (it was a gift).
I had them file a A-Z. And now I must answer the claim. Do I automatically lose this claim (I can't provide tracking)? And must I pay out the $60 out of my own pocket? My sales are fairly week last couple of months, and I really don't have an extra $60 to hand out.
The item was sent Priority, no tracking. How do I answer Amazon's request to answer? |

| Amazon's policy is that if the seller can't prove delivery, they lose the claim. This has caused me to set expensive items to sell in the US only. I'm sorry this happened to you; it sucks. |

It's always been my experience that anything sent internationally with USPS Global Priority is tracked and has a delivery confirmation number. They certainly charge enough for it. If it was an ebay purchase and you printed the label through ebay, the number should be on file.
If you did it through the post office, you should look for your receipts. |

| Sadly, Amazon doesn't take delivery confirmation as proof of delivery. They will only take signature confirmation. |

Never ship internationally on Amazon unless you are willing, or the sale makes it financially viable to pay for secure 'signature at delivery' type shipping.
Any other shipping method guarantees you will be screwed often and vigorously.
Now, go remove international from your listings and the have Happy Thanks Giving

This is my first International package lost, and I knew it would happen eventually. I get a lot of buyers outside of US. So I can take a hit once in a while.
I just wondered if Amazon might pick up the tab on this one since I'm a nice guy, have 100% five star rating, never a complaint at all. |

If your a good seller, 97-98%, with very few A-Z claims, they might cover it if the customer was being exceedingly belligerent/difficult/abusive.
Of my 20 or so A-Z claims they paid 17 becuase the buyers were being unreasonable. I politely worded my response about being confused why I had to put up with this type of abuse.
But if its simply did not arrive, they won't.
Keep in mind that Amazon does track buyer claims and over a certain number they buyer will be limited/banned. So its very likely the claim is authentic.

| Cohibastore is correct - Amazon allows buyers a lifetime limit of 5 AtoZ claims, so at least dishonest buyers can't make a frequest habit of getting free stuff. |
