EBay Inc. spent $385,000 during the third quarter to lobby the federal government about issues such as organized retail crime, online privacy and online sales tax collection, according to a quarterly disclosure report.

That is 9 percent more than the $353,850 the San Jose, Calif.-based online marketplace operator spent in the previous quarter and 6 percent less than the $411,450 eBay spent in the year-ago quarter.

EBay also lobbied on issues related to online retail job creation, online security, greenhouse gas emissions and intellectual property.

You mean they want a tax brak so they can have more money to kill off more small time sellers who are responsible for making them wahat they are.

Online security.

LOL! What happaned to those Microsoft technology logos they used to show on eBay's site and eBay's public praise of MS and how they admire them. Yes, Windows is known for tie privacy.

Greenhouse gas emissions

Shut down ebay customer service - they admit more of these gases that all the cow on the planet and we don't even get milk and meat out of the deal.

and intellectual property.

eBay is based on taking other people's ideas and then putting those companies out of business. This ia a joke!

I thought eBay was using the Bloom Box for power generation at their campus.that is supposed to be "green energy" I think?. think I saw a 60 Minutes episode with Donahoe showing those Bloom Boxes off to the tv show watchers..they can afford those fuel cells from all the fees they glean from us..as I remember the Bloom boxes come in different sizes and think I recall a Bloom box the size of a coffee can can power 1 household, might be doghouse sized
