I have posted the wording from Ebay on the wording.
would appreciate- a little clarification from other users.
I busted my balls to add 1 day to as many as possible, - then when I saw I had sold a few items went to check my Nov statement to see how discount was applied. - NO discount.
Si I contacted Ebay about this. the buyer needs to choose the service.
to get the discount. how absurd.
My argument is that nowhere in the listing does it say you they need to select 1 day shipping to get this extra 20% off discount and thats a 20% plus 20%+40%, not 20% then 20% +22%. ( as stated elsewhere on Ebay)
so here's the language I would Argue this is not fair the the sellers who busted ass to get auctions revised, and then also shipped items in 1 day on top of it..
pleae all opine on this
Again read closely, It states you need to OFFER the service to receive the FVF discount no where does it say the buyer must select that service.
Oh by the way-- my conversation with the Ebay rep in arguing my point "its implied" Implied will go a long way in a class action trial..
I think I am correct in requesting a discount for the sellers who offered this service.

The 1-day or expedited has to be FREE, and there has to be 1-day handling time.
So if you offered 1st class free (which is considered expedited), and $5 priority, you would only get the discount if they chose the free first class shipping.
So did your buyers select a paid shipping option? |

| Supposedly we were to get an additional 20% off FVF if we offered free expedited shipping with one day handling. Over 90% of my listings are that way and always have been, but the discounts in my current invoice are not all there, eBay has conveniently ommitted a great many of them. I called and pointed that out, but as usual the BS started to flow. Anyone else seeing the same thing in their invoice? I should be getting close to a grand in discounts, lucky if I find $100. Check your invoices and complain. |

Of course. ebay is just following the new (well 20 years old or so) way of doing "business" in America. Screw the customer (imo) because the customer can't figure out the scam until it's too late.
A friend just signed up for cable - was promised a $300. debit card. Took her almost a month and several trips from installers only to find out that in order to get the card she had to have a special installation that cost $150. and then pay extra fees each month - so her $300. is spent with the cable company in a few months - but she had to sign up for at least a year. This BS is nothing but scamming imo - yet it's what almost every company routinely does nowadays.
That, I think, is why most Americans agree with the "occupy" movement, at least in principle. Whatever happened to business ethics and morality. Well, partly since the mom and pops have been driven out of business to a large extent, the banks, Wall Street, big boxers and others can scam and nickel and dime customers to the moon. And, since congress and other protectors are in their pocket, they have little to fear. imo.
Verizon charging $2.00 to pay online!!!!!
AT&T charging $5.00 a month to use a debit card!!!!!
Just the tip of a VERY BIG iceberg.
Something needs to be occupied alright - maybe a few church pews or maybe a few "less greed, more ethics" classes in business school.
Oops, I think "less greed, more ethics" is an oxymoron.
I'm just one person, but my answer to AT&T Verizon, Bank of America and the other so-called businesses around today, is to let my money "occupy" some other business' coffers.
And as for the ebay situation!!
Well, there's blujay, ebid, ecrater, etsy, bonanzle, ruby lane, delcamp, etc etc etc
Occupy Occupy Occupy

"eBay's Push for More Generous Terms May Backfire"
eBay has been cranking up the pressure on sellers to offer free, fast shipping and more generous return policies. But thanks to changes eBay will roll out on June 1, 2012, some Top Rated Sellers say they are no longer inclined to offer free shipping on their listings - in the opposite direction eBay hoped sellers would move.
Starting June 1, only listings from Top Rated Sellers (TRS) that include 1-day handling and a minimum 14-day return policy with a money-back option will qualify for the 20% TRS Final Value Fee discounts. (If a Top Rated Seller chooses not offer 1-day handling or a 14-day return policy, that seller's listings will continue to receive some additional search exposure and a TRS badge.)
Some TRS sellers say they are unable to offer one or both of these new requirements, so they will lose the TRS discount.
While they don't have to offer free shipping to qualify for TRS, many do in order to keep their DSRs (Detailed Seller Ratings) at TRS levels.

First off, I hate ebay mangement - they lie, cheat, and steal!
That, I think, is why most Americans agree with the "occupy" movement, at least in principle.
No they do not! The are bunch of boobs, lazy ass hippies who want hand outs, and don't know the meaning of work. I bet there not one of the people who have slept 4 hours, worked 16 hours straight, slept 6 hours, and then back for 8 hour more. I forgot to mention it might be more than 100 degrees during your work period, LOL.
The greatest generation - that which grew up during the depression and which fought world war II didn't stand around for government handouts. I interviewed some world war II veterans for my school paper - you were in combat until you died, the war was over, or you were injured so bad you got sent home. I talked to guys that went 4 years straight with no leave time.
I'd like ot take those protestors over my knee and give them a spanking!
"Whatever happened to business ethics and morality. Well, partly since the mom and pops have been driven out of business to a large extent, the banks, Wall Street, big boxers and others can scam and nickel and dime customers to the moon."
These same mom and pop stores are selling made in china products - sso much for protecting their own country men that they expect to buy form their store because its a mom and pop.
All kinds of mom and pop businesses here beause we do not have centralized government telling us what the hell to do OR occupy people wanting to take our profit away.
"And, since congress and other protectors are in their pocket, they have little to fear. imo.

Go somewhere else! Common sense tells you Verizon is going to be expensive because you have to pay for the millions that they spend on advertising! LOL, AT&T!
Something needs to be occupied alright - maybe a few church pews or maybe a few "less greed, more ethics" classes in business school.
Frankly I don't much difference between poeple that go to chruch and those that do not these days. One just pretends they will be saved for the act of going to church when in reality christ commands you to pray in a closet so that noone knows - those that pray in public to gain attention will receive no reward.
"Oops, I think "less greed, more ethics" is an oxymoron."
So what led this person to sign up for the deal and not read the terms? GREED?
"I'm just one person, but my answer to AT&T Verizon, Bank of America and the other so-called businesses around today, is to let my money "occupy" some other business' coffers."
Correct - thats what capitalism is all about. Occupy on the hand is about socialism and its cousin communism. |

Do what you do in way that best suits your needs, not in a way that best suits ebays needs.
I list many smaller items without free shipping becuase the lower bin/auction price without shipping built in triggers certain price acceptability in the buyers mind.
As shipping rates have increased it has and will continue to become harder for anyone to even pretend shipping is free.
The only free shipping I offer is if it can go first class. Anything else is unfair to customers more then three states away, and I think buyers are figuring this out. |
