Two months after eliminating chat rooms, eBay is introducing a new feature called Community Guides who will participate in the eBay Discussion Boards as "information providers." The role of Community Guides is to spend a few hours each week helping keep eBay-related discussions easy to navigate, and helping members with community-specific related questions or technical needs relevant to the use of the discussion boards. Unlike eBay's former moderators, it appears the guides will only help users navigate the community features and will not help users with eBay policies or features.
