The faster ad photos load for potential customers looking at ads the better so they do not grow impatient.
Does eBay compress photos sellers upload or should I compress them before I upload? I can't find that info anywhere. |

| That's probably because no one has ever asked that question before- Compressing photos? If you're talking about re-sizing them-Ebay does them all the same. |

| I mean compressing meaning taking less bytes but being same size. They load faster. |

| considering that e bay sizes them for their format it doesn't matter what you do they will only load as fast as e bay will let them |

| I'm not sure about that. There is a difference between resizing and compressing. |

| I would be careful with that kind of stuff. Lower quality (compressing) and resizing are of course different things. But if you compress your pictures to much you will eventually end up with bad picture quality. |

Get an account at http://www.use.com/
Upload photos into sets using bulk uploader.
Generate html for set and paste into auction.
The html code generates smaller sized images within your auction which when clicked take you to the originals at use.com which users can enlarge to full size.
I have no problem hosting large uncompressed jpegs from a Canon T2i there. I have hundreds of photos there - all for free.
Items don't sell on eBay use the same html code to show the pictures on another site.
Only use ebay pictures for your first picture so your auction listing shows a pic during searches. Place first picture in your set of pictures also so people can enlarge it to full size instead of using eBay's crappy service. |
