Google Users Will Get More Personalized Results in Searches
Google Inc. (GOOG) will provide more personalized search results for users by tapping content from its Google+ service, including photos, news and comments that are posted on the social network.
A new service called Search, Plus Your World will display more content for users who log into Google, providing access to items they may have put on Google+ or from friends’ posts, said Amit Singhal, who focuses on improving information retrieval at the Mountain View, California-based company. If someone searches for a dog, for instance, pictures of friends’ dogs might show up first in the search results.

I've read about this on other sites. Sellers are trying to figure out how to get noticed when google weighs twitter, facebook, and other social media higher on the scale. I guess that means that all the lies, trash, scams, and carp on those sites will come up first on search. Yuck. Like I would want to see "a friends dog's" picture when I do a search for "dog" WHAT!!!! I'm sure there's money in it somehow.
Makes me want to pook. If sellers would spend just half the time working on listings, better customer service etc than they do on chasing google, they could maybe make a little money online.
We read thousands of complaints about ebay, amazon and other sites every day, and yet everybody seems to go begging to google for any 'ol scrap of attention.
Sellers know darn well, that google can't be trusted any more than any other site, google changes their "rules" also daily, and underneath it all is the almighty dollar (these days worth a nickel)
Maybe if people would stop chasing the beast, the beast would quit puffing-up and fooling the people. OOOOOOhhh the big bad google's gonna get us!!!!!!!! Hey, what would google do if it started to loose it's power - maybe change for the better and start working better for those who use it.
What's it gonna be next month? Well, google SAYS, put your hands on your head, turn around three times, and kiss your mobile device on the mouth. Oh my, sorry, you forgot to say "google says" first. You're out!!!
I know I'll get slammed by sellers who say that they can't live without google shuffling buyers to their sites. Maybe sellers need google for certain items, and yes my stuff shows up on google - with bing, find, yahoo and others now bringing in about the same number of views on most sites. But, I say google schmoogle and ebay schmeebay. imho
Multiple choice test: (just for laughs)
google is ________ .
A the book of Revelations Anti-Christ (the number 666 that everyone
needs to buy or sell in the last days)
B Big Brother (google knows everything about everybody in order to
manipulate the population including buying and selling)
C Both A and B
D All of the above (take your pick)
It's so ha - ho ho ha

"EPIC to FTC: Did You See What Google Did There?"
The Electronic Privacy Information Center wants the U.S. FTC to take a close look at Google's latest change to its search engine. Dubbed "Google Plus Your World," the new changes deliver more personalized results from sources like the user's Google+ profile and other Google properties. But critics say Google's misusing its power and giving sites like Twitter the short shrift.
The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) has written to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to look into new features in Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) search engine.
"We've asked the FTC, as part of its investigation for possible antitrust violations, whether changes in Google search constitute an antitrust violation and ... violate the consent order Google recently signed with the FTC which includes new privacy safeguards for Google services," EPIC president Marc Rotenberg said in reference to the organization's letter.
The FTC is already looking into whether Google is breaching antitrust regulations by overly favoring its own products in Google searches.
In December, Google signed a consent order with the FTC to settle the Commission's investigation of Google Buzz, a social network it rolled out in 2010.
"We think users should be able to opt into [the new features offered in Google Search], but the way Google has set it up, you have to opt out instead of opt in, and that is ... strikingly similar to Buzz," Rotenberg said.
