I had originally about 1,400 CDs up on Amazon. Many of them sold, and about 500 are still sitting on my shelf. But amazon is only showing about 400 listings of CDs on my account. I have 134 items besides CDs, for a total of 532 items for sale.
By my math, I have 100 CDs that Amazon has kicked to the curb and dropped. I need to relist them. But I think I may try ebay with reduced prices since they now have free listings. I may as well try another venue since they did not move in over a year, and Amazon did not keep them availble. Some of my expired items (are rare) I was the only seller offering them. So that is kind of bad I think.
This is fine I guess, as I can relist them. But how do I know which CDs Amazon decides to drop, and which get to stick around longer. I notice that some of my very first listings are alive and well, and other I ones listed later have expired. I just looked at my Amazon stock tonight, and found many nice $30 to $50 items are no longer listed. But I still have them on the shelf. Looks like ebay is going to get a crack at them at lower than Amazon prices.
I just have not figured out the science behind Amazon's rejection and deletion process yet. |

I have had a few amazon listings suddenly show as closed when they were in stock and selling. In a few cases the only possible reason was becuase I was under cutting them and costing them real profit, like $8 per item x 100s of items.
I am unaware of a general time frame for pulling slow listings. |

This doesn't just happen on Amazon, I've had it happen to me on ebay where listings are supposed to be "good til cancelled". Somehow they disappear after a few years. I sell multiples of an item so they shouldn't be disappearing but they are. |
