If you have 10 widgets the same do you list them 10 times? Is there any advantage to this with the search engines?

Morning! I recently set up a store here, and was told that multi items can be discussed in the text of the auction. So - list the item, and just put a statement in that you've got 10 of these....

I did set up a store, and seem to have been able to follow the instructions that were on the left (menu options). I've got to run out this am and help someone move, so can't walk you thru it! I'm sure others will be along to help with that!

As far as your store name, you might have to reach out to CS at the site - I'm hopeful the can amend it for you!!

Best of luck with your eCrater store!! :D :D

That is what I wish eCrater had, some kind of
inventory counter.

I'm going to be selling items that I will have
in the thousands, how in the world am I going
to keep track of everything?

On blujay they only have some kind of maxium
count thing which is still not what I am looking for.

I need a counter that will count down items as they sell.
I really like the look of eCrater that is why I
would really like to sell my items there.

Even lesser known sites have this feature, it must be hard
to intergate this into there system for some reason.

There is a QTY box in the product section where you can enter in a maximum number someone can purchase at a time. Unfortunately, right now, there is only manually inventory control.

Nikkicute - What I do is track it on a spreadsheet. I sell one - ecrater.com or anywhere, I immediately go there and lower my count. OK, lol, sometimes it's just at the end of the day and not immediately, lol

a spreadsheet is nothing more then a piece of paper with rows and columns.
You can do in manually on an actual piece of paper
or
you can use excel - and include a pic of the item in one column if you wanted it.

If you con't have excel - you can download a spreadsheet from open office for free or if you have a google account they have free docs & spreadsheets available too.

If you don't already have Excel, don't go out and BUY it as it's some big bucks.

Open Office is a FREE M$ Office Clone and does as much or more than M$ Office. It will even open and save to M$ Office format so you can share files with people.

A simple spreadsheet like mentioned above should work for inventory. Just give each item it's own row. That would be the first column. Then I would maybe give the next column for the TOTAL of those items you have. After that name columns for the diferent venues you have it on. Add a number whenever you sell something. When the numbers across the row all add up to the number in your total, you're sold out.

When you learn how to fill in the spreadsheet, you can later learn how to use "formulas" to make the entries add themselves for the total. Doing that is a bit more advanced, but really not all that hard.

I love Open Office!!! Carol told me about it!!

And yes, it works as well or better then M$ OFFICE!!! It is compatible with several other programs. And will convert M$ and others.

openoffice.org for the download.

I don't really mind paying for a good program that does something I need it to do. What I hate is companies like M$ and Intuit constantly up-dating/upgrading their programs and then making the older programs so they won't work or dropping the support to force us to upgrade. And of course the upgrade is another arm and leg even if they offer you a discount for having the older version.

At least now with these open source programs we don't have to spend a lot to have some of the basic programs we need for our computers.

Open Office is great for an office suite. The Gimp is pretty good for graphics and photo editing. And there are lots of other open source programs at places like SourceForge. Some just work better than others. It all depends on what you like and need.

Irfanview is also good for editing and resizing photos. My brother told me about it. You can make animations. Add text. Lots of other stuff I haven't even looked at yet, as I haven't had the need or guts to get in there and do. When I scan a book, it copies to a 1 meg pic, too big to upload, so I need a resizer.

I just saw what a spredsheet looked like, now I
could have sworn I ran into one of those while
looking through some files on my computer, but
I had no idea what is was or how to use it.

Do any spreadsheet programs come installed with
computers or do you have to download/buy the pro-
gram?
