I have added WhaBAM and MightyBids to the auction site count. I already been grabbing the auction count from theses sites for a week now. Both site have remained above the 10,000 listing mark for sometime now so I decided to add them.

I tried to add iOffer again but the way their site is structured now it made it impossible.

Hi There!

I just found this site. I was wondering how I might go about getting my companies' site listed as an alternative site for listers in this forum? The site name is www.sterlingbidz.com and it has been open since April of 2003. It has been a tough road but sales have been pretty good. Our site ranking has been all over the place from top 60k to below 4million. We have a pretty strict seller certification program that results in very good sales for those who are approved. Traffic on the site is pretty good with a large number of bidders being repeat customers. We are currently listed at #3 on yahoo for the search "online coin auction" If there is away we can all assist each other please let me know.

Thanks psunite!

Mark? An auction site must have at least 10,000 items listed for a certain period of time before being added to the auction count.
The ahlandonline.com you're refering to has around 451 items listed at this time.
Good luck and thanks for joining us here at PSU

Thanks for your response. I was wondering if I might humbly suggest a review of the criteria for listing a site? The reason being is that we intentionally do not have many items on the site, but we do have much higher sales volume than sites with more items. We have had offers from many sellers to saturate the site with items, but we refuse their business because of quality before quantity concerns. Its like two car lots. One has 10,000 cars the other only 400 but at the end of the year the lot with 400 cars has sold more cars. Does that make sense? Maybe a sales volume of 1 million dollars could be made a criteria? For example 10,000 items or sales volume of 1,000,000 dollars? We could meet the second criteria.

Thanks for your time,

Mark

Hi Mark,

I just looked at your site. I really like the look of it and you carry some beautiful things! I just sent your addy to a friend who is an avid coin collector. Hope something will come of it for you.

What do you charge to list and sell on your site? What are your criteria for a seller?

Thanks for posting here, and good luck!

Hi Patty,

Thanks for your support. General base listing fees are .25 an item and 5% of the final value. Since the site started in 2003 fees have remained the same. Some costs have gone down. For example the normal final value fee is 5%, but final value fees for gold coins are only 2%.

With sellers we are more concerned with experince in listing items and proper decription. People who know what they are selling and can stand behind any claims made are given priority. Honesty is more important than size.

Kind regards,

Mark Hutto
