I have been working on a payment system that will have a little lower fees than paypal, but will offer kinda a reward for members.

Everytime a user sends or recieves money (via our service), you would earn credits that can be used to purchase items offered especially to our members.

The site will accept deposits from: paypal, CC/Debit Cards, money orders, and cashier checks.

I would like feedback, and if you have suggestions, please tell me!!!

I have already started working on this site, but am I wasting my time? It seems many people think there is just paypal, and don't want to support another site.

I think a lot of people would like a nice, reliable payment systems. And a lot would like to offer something other than PayPal. GreatCOW has their own internal system, but they have ad to acquiesce to creating a PayPal account and accepting Credit Cards in general. But GC's system is still different in that it is all internal. GC cow collects all the money from buyers regardless of method and then puts money in the sellers' accounts on the site. The seller can then do a free transfer of the cash from GC to their bank account.

I'm pretty sure you're not talking about this. There's been much anticipation about Google's starting GBuy, or whatever they call it, and mainly because Google is a really large company and known, so it might be easier to offer and have buyers sign up.

But like eBay, PayPal was once a small startup, too. I don't think it will be extremely easy, but as long as your goal is not overcoming PayPal any time soon, it might be a good idea.

I think it's sites that want or claim they'll to be the next Ebay or the next PayPal are the ones that fall so easy. I like the fact that eAuctionWorld has been around and you're not giving up. I think you have to take that same positive thinking into a payment system and expect it to be a slow, but hopefully steady growth.

And it seems from being on other sites that new payment systems are becoming better known as decent PayPal alternatives. The importance is security. People have to know that their payments and their funds are secure. Can you get hurt on PayPal? Of course, it happens all the time. I don't feel secure there but that's mainly due to their chargeback policies when a buyer pays with a cc that PayPal determines to be fraudulent. The party who loses is the seller. How was the seller supposed to know the card was stolen? .

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. I don't want to be a seller or buyer on a monopoly like eBay, because they don't care about their members , just the bottom line. However, if eBay does fall eventually or be forced into divestiture of some acquired so-called assets, it will be because of their attitude towards the members of their so-called "core" business, the eBay auction site.

Yep...uh huh.....so true.....don't get me started on MS or BG. I go off like a time bomb!!

EAW....we are always looking for new payment options. I have tried a few including PPPay but most buyers seem to want to stick with PP.

GBuy may be the thing to put a dent in PP but it's gonna take loads of time and effort even for them.

I for one would love another viable option besides these giant corporations offerings!!
