Mike Rudolph, eBay's Director of Education & Events, has left eBay to go to VA Software's OSTG division as Vice President of SourceForge.net Marketplace. Rudolph joined eBay in 2001 where he developed integrated service and support offerings to buyers of merchants' products. Rudolph also spent time as head of the computers vertical and most recently managed the eBay Live user conference. Rudolph made a splash last month when he fulfilled his promise to shave his head if the 2006 eBay Live conference was sold out. With 15,000 attendees, the Las Vegas event was sold out, and Rudolph followed through on his commitment by shaving his head (http://ebaychatter.typepad.com/the_chatter/2006/06/ebay_live_sells.html).

The only thing I worry about is the places these guys are going to. After all they were part of all this eBay mess. Are they now going to trash some good sites ??!!
It's just too bad that a few of the even higher ups at E don't go "poof" ( Meg and Bill to name 2) , Maybe the site would get back to what made them great.

| Well, yeah, rats deserting the ship...frankly, not every exec at eBay is a drooling looser. It's been a very lucrative venture, many of those execs are responsible for the huge finanical success. Many of these execs will have little to no trouble finding better companies to work with. Strengthening and building other companies will continue to nick away at the monopoly...they were smart enough to be there in the boom, and smart enough to bail... |
