Ebay on CNBC
here is what James "Jim" Crammer had to say about ebay on his CNBC SHOW Daily show just about 5:40 Texas time on my DISH!
The show will rerun tonight. You can check your Local schedule for time and station. My note taking was fast and I could have left out some of what he said, I hope I got it right what he said. His actions will give you a so how does it feel feebay?
He was asked by caller "is ebay a long term investment? It is at its 52 week low. Should I load up on it?"
Crammer's ans:
"Got rid of Pay Pal Guy, Over paid for Skype, Over paid for every thing they bought. ebay should but itself on ebay. Meg Whitman is the Teflon
Don of ebay. Sell ! sell ! sell !
Happy Paths to you till we meet again,

Hi Rita my fellow Texan!
Don't have that cable TV stuff but have noticed that most of the larger online auction sites are suffering a little like they usually do during the summer months
Folks are traveling around the countryside with the kids now and not spending as much time shopping online
Look at overstock.com for example
Down almost 45% over the last 12 months
I think once the kiddos are back in school and people quit traveling around they'll come back to shop online during the late Summer and Fall.
Then ebay's and overstock's stocks will probably rise a little IMHO |

You are correct his is loony---but he sure sings a fine tune when it comes to the money he has made.
Guess I better put a disclaimer on this chat: I do not own any ebay stock and never have.
Happy Paths to Yall,

Skype is kind of cool with people you know.......its an ugly and clunky security risk otherwise and its ugly and clunky interface with eBay.
:? ......It could be of some use in the future on eBay ,for certain sellers and informed and savy bidders.
But for 2 Billion? And banned in China and more to come?
I don't own eBay stock , never have but a few years ago I may have been interested before they changed corp. cultures and really started to put on the squeeze.
eBay stock drop? Lets see growth is slowing which is just normal and Wallstreet always like to punish that. eBay would then turn to the value people to bouy it and they are shaking thier heads over "Skype" and eBay throwing Billions down the well in China to only come out in third place !
How about companies like Disney and others opening up thier own auctions for products rather then piggyback on eBay? That can't help and there are whispers false or not about Googlebase and Google checkout.
Now the shuffle as eBay head office are getting better jobs elsewhere.
I guess its only natural that eBay's growth would slow....and stock would get hurt even more with them spending billions and getting very little for it.
Sad.....with all that squeeze on the seller ,can't even take over China and help the stockprice? Sort of an insult to injury that can't rip us off and at least accomplish the biz plan oversea's  |

Ebay's Stock Drop by Davids Phillips:
David Phillips (10Q Detective) submits: The common stock of online auctioneer eBay Inc. (EBAY) closed at a new 52-week low on Friday as Wall Street analysts suggested in published research reports that Google Inc.’s (GOOG) new online payment service, Google Checkout, could prove to be a legitimate long-term threat to PayPal, currently the Internet’s leading payment service.
Dubbed the ‘PayPal Killer’ in the press, Google Checkout does offer two advantages over PayPal. Speed of checkout is faster for consumers and the service charges merchants 2.0% plus $.20 per transaction, which is less than PayPal’s processing fees (which range between 1.9 percent and 2.9 percent of the purchase amount plus 30 cents per transaction).
PayPal and its competition
Traditional payment methods such as checks, money orders and credit cards processed through merchant accounts, all present various obstacles to the online commerce experience, including lengthy processing time, inconvenience and high costs. PayPal’s Value Proposition is that the proprietary global payments platform offered by PayPal enables any individual or businesses with an email address to securely, easily and quickly send and receive payments online.
PayPal’s account-based system is available to users in 55 markets, including the United States. As of December 31, 2005, PayPal had approximately 96 million total accounts, comprising approximately 19 million business accounts and 77 million personal accounts.
