This paypal/ebay protection is quite a scam. What a bunch of crap. Here's the story:

I purchased a new power supply for my computer from this dead beat seller samrimister (Ebay score 10). The total with shipping was $53. Before I purchased it, I emailed and asked him how quick he was going to ship. He replied within the hour, and said he would ship same day as the payment... Priority Mail. From his place to mine should take 2-3 days. So I purchased and paid him immediately. Then 2 weeks passed and this guy had disappeared. No replies to my emails and his phone is disconnected. I contacted all of his other buyers and they were all having the very same problem.

So I filed for a paypal dispute. I was confident that I would be getting my money back, afterall, with the paypal buyer's protection the seller has to prove the item was delivered or the buyer gets back their money, right? At least that's what I thought the deal was.

Today I got an email from paypal saying they had indeed sided on my behalf and I would be getting SOME of my money back. They went on to say that I would only be getting $28 of my $53 back. They basically charged me a $25 processing fee for reversing the payment. What did they do to derserve my $25? I am the one who did all the work, righting the dispute and by the way, IT'S MY MONEY!!!!!

Did you guys know about this rediculous paypal/ebay scam, I mean to say policy? I am totally pissed at them, I am steaming. I wish google would get off their butt already and get some ebay/paypal competition going.

I just replied to PayScalps email with the following:

"Thanks you Paypal! Thank you for stealing $25 from me for your "processing fee." What did you guys do? NOTHING! I am the one who was robbed here, and you have the nerve of charging me a processing fee? Why don't you charge my crappy seller the fee instead?

You guys are something else. I can't wait until Google get's their Gpay system up and running well. With 2% fees and .20 cent transaction, they will be tough to compete with."

Yup. I once had a loser fail to send me a $29 item and I got refunded $4 from eBay.

But that's the least of my troubles with PayApall. I've been ripped off a number of
times for hundreds of dollars because the company found loopholes to avoid honoring
its "seller protection" policy.

I had a case where I had done a lot of detective work to track done a guy who'd scammed
me out of $439. I found the guy was operating under a new eBay id. So I told PayApall,
and what did they do? They send a form response about their privacy policy, telling me
that they couldn't reveal any information about the new seller. Well, they're still making
money on the guy, so sure, they're only too happy to protect him.
