Hi, I am new here.
Just a thought. At least for my purposes now. I really don't have the time to be trying this and that.
Store in search is going away anyway. So, why not load the store up and run my own Goggle ad campaign, ad words, Blog it etc. I could start with what I have now. No need to go crazy taking on more work. I will have to learn to blog, RSS feeds and at some point do a website I suppose.
For now I am not overly concerned about the store fees, but If I can eliminate the auction fees that would be cool.
As I sit here I am thinking I need to build a presence off ebay, fed by ebay. I can direct people to my store from multiple other locations. I haven't tried this yet, but eliminating the auction fee side gives me a nice budget for other marketing methods.
My sell through rate has tanked pretty much all year on ebay. Up to the end of last February it was pretty steady at about 65%. They pulled the plug somewhere and it was like I didn't exist. Weird....
What do you folks think? Doable? |

Welcome to PSU and thanks for posting among our forums here!
Never had a store at ebay due to the fact the overall auction search (to stores) worked at times while other times it didn't--Then ebay decided to pull the plug on stores search among auction searches and from what I've heard and read--Store sales plummeted among most ebay store owners :(

Welcome to PSU and hope you find what you want!! I had a store 'there' but for a small while...
IMO, if you've got funds to generate traffic and drive business to a store, why not find a 'store' that's either free or lower cost? I 'heard' in your post that the current ebaY structure (store search --- low priority) is not truly driving the traffic it once did.
So - if I were you, I might keep my store 'there' for a while, lower the stock and work to redirect the traffic thru your ads to a lower cost/free alternative - or even your own site.
While ebaY does show in google/froogle searches for items, so do many other alternatives now. If you market and direct your traffic in all directions - with the 'end stop' as your own stie or an alternative site/store - I would hope it would be 'win/win' for you.
