I'm absolutely disgusted with this company and after I list one final auction today (my dog won the ealc group logo contest... I'm doing it for them, not greedbay) I won't list any more this month.
I had 8 unpaid items from one guy. I filed for the fvf on them and got the little "you will receive a final value fee credit and your buyer will receive an unpaid item strike" message. Great. Trouble is... when I went back to the dispute console, it says "no final value fee granted".
I contacted ebay Customers "Service" (I'm getting "serviced" all right) and received one message saying that it was a bug and they'd passed the info on to their engineering department to fix. A couple of days pass and I hear nothing so I email again requesting the credits be applied manually since it may take the engineering department a long while to troubleshoot their bug. This is the response I got:
Quote: › docWrite("quote")Thank you for writing eBay in regard to receiving a credit due to a
technical problem.
Please be advised that we will not be able to issue any of the Final
Value Fee credits until the current problem is fixed. This is because
the system may issue the credits automatically when the problem is fixed
and, if we were to issue the credits manually right now, this may result
is a double credit situation.
Thank you for using eBay for your online trading needs.
If this is not fixed by my billing due date, I will be subracting that amount from my payment (I don't have automatic payments, nor a credit card on file... I've been on ebay since before that was required). I'll also be forwarding a copy of all the pertinent info to the California Attorney General's office.
I've had other companies make billing errors. Not one has had the cojones to say "sorry, but we can't do anything until our engineers fix it". They take the professional road and adjust it on the spot, then readjust later if a double-credit situation occurs.
Someone really needs to do an investigation into the financial practices of this company. Something is wrong. |

snoopygirl - congrats on your puppy winning - great news!!! So sorry 'this' is 'going on'. For the size of ebaY, I'm absolutely amazed at the lack of 'real CS'. I had a 'phone calling day', and needed to call my bank (National, large and 'beaurocratic', my 'credit card' company, the 'school district') and a few other '1-800-help-less lines'....
I will have to say that each and every one of them either had a 0 out option to talk to a human or a human answered the phone! So - why can't this 'be' on ebaY?  :? |

it is not lack of customer support.. it is the realization that they have reached the top growth both us and internationally.. so now they are nickel and diming the customers ( i.e. the sellers since we are ebay's customers ).
we noticed this back in feb with ebay that we were not getting fvf and ebay would not respond to our emails on why. |

I haven't heard diddly back from them, nor has my account been credited, so I've emailed them AGAIN (this makes #3)
Hi,
I'm sorry but the response time to correctly credit my account is unacceptable. I originally notified eBay of this July 31st and it is now August 8th. Holding my money hostage by making a refund contingent on the ability of your engineering team to fix a bug that may or may not be on your priority list is NOT acceptable customer service. I request that you fix this problem manually, and if you do ever figure out what the bug is, then you can just as easily re-apply the charge should a double credit occur.
If I need to escalate this with the San Jose BBB and the California Attorney General's office in order to bring attention to the unusual practices of eBay in handing errors in customer accounts, I will. I am hoping this will not become necessary and that you will give me the minimum courtesy of refunding my FVFs due to me.
Thank you,
Maureen M McCarty
Thankfully I'm not part of that automatic payment nonsense. THIS is exactly why I don't sign up for it. Boneheads. |

I updated the latest condescending reply I received about their billing error in this thread:
http://www.powersellersunite.com/viewtopic.php?p=63568#63568
which also contains the link to the San Jose BBB. Let them hear what you have to say. It is simple and it is FREE. |
