Hi Everyone! My name is Anita, this is my real ebay id and I’m an ebay escapee, too! It is so nice to find a place that we can actually have an open discussion about ebay and not have to watch what we type.
Like many other ebay store owners, I’ve finally reached the last straw with them. Several years ago I made a big mistake in closing my website store and putting all of my eggs in the ebay store basket. I couldn’t keep up with the work for both places, so since my ebay store was out selling my website I thought it would be the better way to go.
Now I want to concentrate on building my web business again and being a long time webmaster I know how hard it is to get a web store to be recognized and ranked in the search engines these days.
As some of you know, for years I ran an ebay store mall at my site JunkingUSA, well I had to close it a few months ago because of the amount of spam that was being submitted. Since then I’ve been trying to decide which direction to take the website.
Thanks to ebay, that became an easy decision so for the past couple of weeks I’ve been working with a few other people and we created a Text Based Link Exchange! The site is now completely dedicated to being a virtual shopping mall. It is brand new so it will take a couple of months to really be a big help to us all, but I think the potential is there if you all want to participate. I’m trying to do a soft roll out, so initially it is only open to US based business. I am also open to any suggestions on improving!
For more information on it, visit JunkingUSA Directory intro or visit the virtual mall at JunkingUSA
If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to email me! ... Anita |

Hi Anita,
Nice work, nice site & great idea! You might want to change the color of the links on the top bar from red to something else, maybe white? They're hard to read.
Do I understand correctly that you will be promoting eBay stores also? I don't plan to join any more new promotional sites that also promote members' eBay listings/sites.
Thanks,
sylvia |

Hi Sylvia, I will check out the links that you mentioned and see what I can do ...
As for the ebay stores ... I am not really promoting that people add their ebay stores or auctions ... as a matter of fact I have an ad waiting for approval right now that points to a non-ebay auction item. I did approve one user for them, without really thinking about it but that might be the one and only auction listings that get approved... The whole purpose of this site is for people to actually participate in the exchange .. it isn't going to do any of us any good, if the code isn't included on their website and I don't really see why I should give away free impressions to people that aren't going to participate in the exchange? ;)
I thought I would allow people to add a link to their ebay store if they are going to also have an ad for their website store (non-ebay) .. and I think I had better stick to that rule. I'm going to revise my rules to include that. I hadn't thought in advance that there would be people that didn't understand the purpose behind the link exchange or that they would try and take advantage of it .. Silly me! ... lol |

Hi Anita,
I will be definitely be placing a reciprocal link to my website, which actually leads to my store on BiddersnSellers on the front page, because I'm going to be reconstructing my website behind the scenes this fall. I used to use my site for my higher-priced items, but when I re-open it will include everything, including gift items.
When I created my ad I was in the middle of work, but I will be adding the link most definitely. My website, even in its current state, needs all the help it can get. |

Thanks Cathy! I will just leave it unapproved until you create the ad for your website ;) You get 4 ads per account and can share the impression count between ads ... I also created 2 new categories, one for Services, for websites that assist others (like this one) and the other category is for auction items, so that anyone that wants to exclude those types of ads from their website, will be able too. I still have to create the category pages in the main directory so that might not be for awhile.
You guys are the only people that I posted the opening of the exchange to, because I wanted to see what kinds of things that I had to get right before alot of people sign up. So I appreciate all of your suggestions and ideas! .. Thank you, Anita |
