I currently have my hosting through GoDaddy. My domain name (www.kcskorner.com) is also registered through them. If I should decide to go through PSU for my store, do I need to contact GoDaddy and transfer the registration? I don't want to pay two companies for hosting when I'm only going to be using one. Also, will my store URL continue to be www.kcskorner.com or will I need to re-direct from that URL?
Right now I have temporarily moved my store to eCrater. |

PSU will prolly be around shortly to answer, but I do 'hear' ya....I suspect you'll have to honor any existing contract with 'them' thru end-of-agreement, but then you should be 'free and clear' and should be able to transition your domain name to the host of choice (PSU)...
Hope that helps in the interim!! :D |

All you have to do is log into godaddy and change your DNS settings to point to our servers. See article http://kb.powersellersunite.com/idx/0/001/article/How-to-setup-your-domain-to-our-DNS.html
Once that is done your domain kcskorner.com will be pointed to your PSU Store. |

That part I understand. However, I don't want to have to pay GoDaddy AND PSU every month. Just pointing the DNS to PSU won't change the fact that I'd still be paying GoDaddy $9.99 per month, will it? I use my domain to host my eBay auction photos and changing the DNS causes those photos to not show. I know, I did this once before and GoDaddy had to change everything back in order to have my photos show.
Since I've closed my eBay store, the photo hosting thing isn't really a big problem. I can use other free services to host my photos. |

May I ask if you paid for the domain by the year? I didn't know
they had a monthly premium, maybe I missed that part. Mine
was set by the year - for the domain rights.
Double check your account in Go-Daddy.

| The domains right now at godaddy are 8.95 a month. If you have hosting with us then you don't need hosting from godaddy. If you put your ebay photos in the same directory on the PSU server as you did with the godaddy server, once you point your domain to us your ebay pictures will show. |

You can leave your doman registered at godaddy and just "point it" at the PSU store servers. That's not a problem. That's what I did.
As for the hosting account at godaddy, call or email them and tell them to cancel your HOSTING account. Do this when you've got your store or whatever files you need to move to PSU's hosting server done.
I did this and they quickly refunded my $$. They are very easy to work with. Post again if you have any questions. I register all my domains at godaddy & have one hosting account left there.

| Hello everyone! New member and first time submitter. Like a lot of you, I was very upset by the latest fee hikes at eBay and I am on the hunt for new ways to sell my wares on the internet. And what better place to get the best help and ideas? Well, the PowerSeller of course! I have been looking at all the auction sites that are available to me here on the net, picked out a couple that I feel like would be the best for me. After reading all of the posts here at PSU, I feel like the next and best step for me is to have my own website. I purchased my domain name last March and working with Network Solutions I set it up to forward to my eBay store. I would like to have a professional logo created for my store and then work on setting up my own Website using the logo colors, etc. I have looked at all the example PSU Web Hosting sites and really like what I see. Well, let me close this book...didn't mean to talk on and on. Just very happy to be here and very excited about the possibilities. Thanks for creating this site and Hi again! Toni |

Welcome to PSU!! Having your own website is great it lets people know where you are at no matter what auction site your selling on. I think of it as a hub while the auction and marketplace site are the spokes.
There are actually quite a few members here that do logos and graphics. They are very creative and come up with some great designs. Maybe one of them will see this thread and help you out.
I just added two more LIVE stores to the list on http://www.powersellersunite.com/psustore_about.php |
