| I am really pleased with my needlework site. THAT auction place was killing my little profits with listing/selling fees. I receive lots of help from forums too. Many of the people have found the site from google/froogle. No extra work for me as eCrater takes care of that. Thank you for the nice compliments regarding my site. I've made a few more sales than my feeback thingy shows. I don't like shipping to foreign countries cause I get so confused with the postage but some people e-mail me nicely and I give in. An added benefit of my site is that I've made some friends just by discussing a common interest (crafts) and then off we go on other things. My son LOVES geography so we discuss the different addresses the orders are shipped to. We plan on saving our pennies and renting an rv someday and touring the US. |

Your store is looking great! I opened an account at eCrater but haven't stocked the shelves yet........so many ways to diversify but so little time!

I agree with the poster above me - your 'home' on eCrater looks great! I too am 'there' and love the ease of the site. It's easy to use and professional in the 'final finish'!!

I want to love eCrater, but it utterly confuses me. For every other site I copy and paste my pre-made template for the item into the description box, upload the image, and that's that.
I tried one listing so far on eCrater and only my headline shows up, no description, no image, the shipping appears to be free (which it is not since it checked on the "it depends" box when listing).
I set my store up there, but now find I really can't put anything in it. I'm just lost. :confused: |

Thanks leluxry. I did try that just now and made a listing by opening my template in Safari and just copying the text from the screen (thereby taking out the HTML tags without the nightmare of doing it by hand).
It showed up fine, but then I still had the Shipping matrix thing I couldn't figure out so shipping was showing up as 0. I nuked the listing since I didn't want some unhappy person thinking their fabric got free shipping.
I think I'll skip eCrater for awhile. I'd love to list there, but can't get a shipping option to work for me, the 2 pound increments make things way off,especially when I sell alot of lightweight Snoopy things, or fabric which can be stuffed in a flatrate box, weigh 20 pounds and still be only 8.10. I wish they just had a " contact seller" option since neither the matrix (which I've no idea how to fill out) or the flatrate works without overcharging for shipping.
Edited to add: I put 2 seasonal things in there to see what happens. I just put $5 shipping in as a flat rate since there's not much flexibiltiy... or I'm just too stupid to figure it out :oops: |

| I keep my HTML templates on my local machine, but for eCrater I did just as you say - opened them in a browser and just cut and pasted the pure text. Edited it a bit to fit the venue a little better, and it didn't take long per item to list. |

| snoopygirl: when you select Flat Rate for the shipping then the weight won't matter, you can just put 1 for the value it won't show or effect the flat rate amount you entered. Give a shot since it's free, only thing you have to invest is your time. Good Luck!! :D |

Ok I've heard alot of good things about eCrater and since it submits Google Base Feeds I've decided to list a bunch of my Slavic Books , Russian ,Ukrainian Polish books for my direct sales.
It was always a hassle with the direct orders so eCrater is a really great find for non-domestic side of my Slavic Books
