The problem is... This is trading one 800# gorilla for another. Google is big business already also. And already very diversified. It won't be their primary concern, but a side line. And wouldn't it be conflict of interest to allow auction sites and individual stores to submit to Froogle and Gbase, then go into direct competition with them?

Let me clarify that a bit...
If google had already had an auction site or sales site in place, fine, then pull the bunny out of the hat and do it. but I think that what they look like they are doing, is setting up a megamall type thing.

Think of it... they have most sellers and sites begging and drooling to get listed there, then they brought out gpay or what ever it called. All they need to do now, is put in a check out and anybody anywhere can buy any item listed in gbase or froogle. And WE HAVE WALKED RIGHT INTO ANOTHER LIONS DEN. Google will own you too. And it wil be conform to their rules and listings. And they will convince you that they are the only place to sell.

That's what I said...but was told that IF Google had an auction site...people could use it until they became another EBay. Instead of a permanent fix, it would be a temporary patch.

Personally I am looking at the overall picture, years from now. Not just what will work until.....know what I mean??
