The stench from this steaming pile of dung called Ebay is
getting more ripe by the hour.
They do think everyone is a low grade moron and ready
to fall all over themselves to throw money at them.
I hope that ship slips beneath the waves soon. We know
the rats are jumping off fast and furiously already. |

| I just hope everyone is reading the fine print - that would really 'stink' if you didn't, and you then - after the fact - realized you were held hostage much longer than you desired!!  :? |

Reminds me of the post a bit back about Treasure Hunting ... in old latrines.... If it stinks, its too new. |

I was reading there and someone said it right... Ebay is going to borrow your money for 45 days.
Looks like some book cooking to me too!!! |

Quite ingenious actually. By giving the credit at the end of september eBay makes sure that the sellers don't quit eBay after the auctions end.
And of course, the credit is just that - a credit at eBay. You can't use it anywhere else or have it deposited into your PayPal account. The only way to use it up is by listing more things on eBay... |

The 'impact' of the fee hike is obviously creating new-jerk reactions at ebaY. There's another thread here that discusses the media's reaction/articles relative to the strike, the fee hikes, it's impact etc.
There's no doubt IMO that the 2-day convert is a quick thinking 'promo' to cook the books and satisfy (or attempt to satisfy) the stockholders and the media.
Keep in mind folks, another Q ends in less than 45 days - same time as the pay-out - gotta keep the #s 'cooked' until then and I project - shortly there-after one of the following:
- Store search will be 'fixed again' to drive sales for Q4
- Fee's will be adjusted again for 'auctions'
- Advertising for Q4 will be 'less' than last year
Relative to PP, they've not raised fees 'there' in a while, and since it generates more than 40% of their income, it may also take a bump to off-set the 'other' investments...
I can't wait for Q3 results - and the creative writing it will require...  |

"....And what if 900 auctions DON'T get the CREDIT in "a month or two" ?...."
Oh,You mean this is like the "free 1 month Store" promo? I remember, that took me about 5 or more month of emailing, just to get that credited to my account????
R_I_G_H_T
I just feel sad for any sellers who get caught unawares that they will better have enough money in the bank when Ebay takes the $ out for this S_A_L_E ,up front!!
I posted this on the store board,it prob.<br>will get pulled.like a similar post. |
