Just wanted to share my opinions regarding the "major" Paypal alternatives from an international overseas seller's point of view.

Among these: moneybookers, Xcoin, Google check-out, bidpay and Alertpay... the most feasible for international overseas sellers would be moneybookers.

Simply because it is easy to fund and to withdraw to your local (your country) bank account.

For sellers, it is important to be able to withdraw your funds to your local bank account.

I checked Xcoin and withdrawals can only be made to banks in the following countries: USA, Canada and Hong Kong

For Google Check-out and Bidpay...it is only for the USA right now. Meaning, they will only cater to withdrawals to USA bank accounts.

As for Alertpay...the only feature that is quite applicable to International overseas sellers is its ability to fund your withdrawals to your e-gold account.

Do you guys have any other alternatives for international overseas sellers?

I use Xoom for Paypal account holders.

How I wish that Bidpay and Google Check-out would be open to international bank accounts too.

Thanks in advance. This site is very helpful.

Reccomend
Money-Bookers is still the best alternative to Paypal

E-Gold around forever is now getting traction .

The E-Dinar is one of the most popular ,but in Arab/Muslim countries ,if you sell luxury goods it may be of use.

Netteller is rather popular but I think it has some requirments (escrow?)

For Canadians Hyperwallet and Certapay

Then it goes downhill........I have an Xcoin account but no one has come forward to use it for my items.

The others I've come across are horrible

What do you mean selling overseas? She is overseas (away from the US) or she is in the US and ships overseas?

We are talking that the seller is overseas (away from the US or the UK) or where banks are not usually accredited.

There is a big difference.

If you accept MO's Checks or anything physical, there is the "transit time" that you have to consider and the postal service charges. To send a Money Order overseas would take anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 month or will not even arrive.

Time is money. And so, we are talking about online payment systems like exampled in the title.

Thanks!

And MONEYBOOKERS is completely safe and they really verify the identity of the users.

And unlike payuppal, they do not freeze accounts and once paid, you stay paid.

Fees are even lower.

Check them out guys www.moneybookers.com and see for yourself. Get outside that paypal comfort zone.

Paypal got so big only because you know who pushed it and enforced it and were totally biased for it.

cheers!

I signed up with moneybookers today. Wish I'd had them when I was selling on Greedbay.

Hello there. We are talking about a "seller's point of view". The statement of Bidpay is directed at the Buyer. Anyone can buy using Bidpay but not everyone can sell using Bidpay since you can only withdraw funds to a U.S. bank account.

Hope this clarifies matters.

Thanks!

The Old Bidpay was more open to international sellers , this New Bidpay is not and only for those with US Bank account.

I went and checked out moneybookers and I signed up but I am a little confused!! Do they offer you a atm/debit card just like pay pal does to be able to w/d funds at atm's?

I emailed them and I am waiting for an asnwer back before I enter all my bank and credit card information.
Any insight?
Thanks!

No Money Bookers does not have an ATM service as its strictly regulated by British Law and is not as "cute" with banking rules as alot of other services.

Deposit rates into bank accounts are pretty low for alot of countries ,and it plays less games with exchange and more flexible with bank accounts then Paypal.

For ATM service , alot of E-Gold gold exchange services are all rushing out ATM cards ...BUT..they do charge alot for the use of an ATM card service. Of course Paypal is not that cheap if consider the 2.5% cross border fee , withdrawl fee's and US Funds only rule

Still its not easy to find an ATM card ,linked to a popular payment system thats affordable as Paypal USD ATM card
