We're very interested in PSU, however, I'm wondering, do you offer a shared SSL certificate? Or do we have to use off-site payment processors who have there own SSL certificates?

Thanks,
Lisa

If you only use PayPal as your payment processor you do not need SSL.

We do provide a shared SSL that you can use. You can get a dedicated SSL install also.

Wow, you mean hosting, cart and shared SSL? Sounds like a deal to me. Can we use a dedicated IP along with a shared certificate? We're interested in a dedicated IP for SEO reasons. Thanks.

Yes we do offer dedicated IPs since dedicated SSL requires it. We have to buy the extra IPs from our datacenter so the cost of having a dedicated IP is an additional $2.50 a month.

I didn't realize that a dedicated IP helps SEO. Please share. :D

Sure. :D

It helps SEO, mostly in that it keeps your own site's SE results from being degraded because of spammers whom you might be sharing your IP with. If their site IP gets block-listed (not misspelled) then so does yours. Having your own dedicated IP allows you to be in control, rather than leaving your site's reputation at the mercy of other sites, whom you have no control over.

You can read more, and check your IP here:

(Scroll down to "Oops, your IP is either dirty or virtual")

Enjoy!
