Looking for alternatives to feebay. Am seeing very little traffic on Ioffer, some traffic on ecrater and had a sale :D (am planning on opening another store there).
I have been trying to decide on another venue to try out and I see that Bidville is now in the million range for listings. Hmmmmmm  . I know Yahoo is as well, but they are a little to close to greedbay for my comfort  .
So, any tips for me? I was looking at the stores over there and a lot of them look pretty good.......my html skills are barely adequate
Do they submit to Froogle/Google or other engines . . .
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thank you PSU |

Valued Members,
Froogle and Google Base feeds are finally being accepted and processed for Bidville items. In order for an auction qualify, the item must have a Take It Price. Storefront Items have no requirements to qualify and all are submitted. We are sending feeds at least twice per week. Since it takes Google Base/Froogle approximately 24-48 hours to get all items posted, there is no need to send more frequently.
To help you identify your items, we placed your Bidville username on all your items during the upload. So, you can go to Google Base/Froogle and search for your own username. If you have storefront items, search for your store`s name. If you don`t see your items, they may be in the process of being accepted. Also, we noticed that the Google system is not perfect. Although we submit close to a million items, some don`t always appear. We are told it is a problem on their side, not ours and will eventually be corrected. |

My only humble advice would be NOT to place all of your eggs/items into one online auction site. Spread it around to several different markets and find out what or which site works best for your particular product.
No matter where you decide to list the bulk of your merchandise, more than likely you're going to have to market your stuff to the public
Once established, email all of your paypal clients and let them know where you've settled
Good luck |

First and foremost - welcome to PSU!!! Best of efforts at BV - may your sales do better than mine there (I didn't have much luck)!!
I do agree with Elgato, and suggest you select a few sites to 'share your wares'....one thing we've all learned - don't put all your eggs in one basket.
I'm listing currently on HiBidder.COM, Yahoo, BiddersNSellers, eCrater and BluJay (I think that's it). All but Yahoo submit to google's/froogle, and Yahoo get's me exposure thru Yahoo's Shopping search engine!
These are the ones I've settled on based on sales performance...
Best of efforts and sales - no matter where ya list - and welcome to PSU!! :D :D |

I agree with your advise and am "spreading my wings" Have one site on on ecrater, one on Ioffer and will be opening another on on ecrater.
I love how incredibly easy it is list on ecrater. I wish we could do a little more customizing, but my html skills leave A LOT to be desired
Have only made one sale there so far and only one on Ioffer. But I have a lot of stocking today and am keeping my fingers crossed.
Greedbay taught me a lesson. I will never put my faith in on company again. :x |

The great thing about eCrater - they don't allow HTML - so ya don't have to learn it for 'a great store/presence' there.
As far as learning HTML, there's plenty of basic information to help you get started. We've got 2 designers on HiBidder.COM that are helping sellers with HTML, Custom Templates, etc. We've also got a member that's teaching about blogs! So - there's plenty of help to be found here, there - everywhere!!

I have been on Bidville since it's inception, with one year long hiatus when I listed only at Yahoo. (I started at Ebay when they were babies and quit when they got greedy)
I sell a whole lot more at Yahoo. I have a lot more deadbeats there, too, but that's just part of life that the more bids you get, the more db's you get. Don't plan on making a living at BV, but you can have steady sales there if you learn their way of doing things.... |

I also do reasonably well on Yahoo and yes....run into 'NPB(s)' on occasion....The best part tho - at least we don't have to chase a refund of fees.
Best of sales folks - no matter where ya list!! :D :D  |
