when adding a product to my store, do i need to apply taxes?

I think for most states, you have to apply sales tax only for purchases to people within your state. Check with your state's commerce department for details on how much to change.
You really can get in trouble for not paying taxes, so it's worth a bit of time to be clear on the procedures and paperwork. You'll probably need to file for a state business license in order to pay your taxes. On the bright side, a tax license also allows you to buy merchandise at wholesale prices. |

Before you can collect taxes you must have a sales tax certificate. You need to contact your state and or county to get a resale certificate. |
