question ~ do you need to have the requisite 100 items and three month on ecrater in order to get noticed or have sales??? Is it like most all other places in that respect?
i have extra *stuff* that don't fit on my three websites or in my ebay store which is just services for ebay storeowners ~ and am looking for an inexpensive place to test the market with.
the items are handmade soaps and bath salts ~ lotions, stuff like that.
any opinions on whether ecrater would serve the purpose? i don't feel like building another website just for this stuff.
TIA

I'm on eCrater, but have a different offering than you! eCrater is reasonably new --- maybe about a year old, and is easy to use.
As far as what's moving there and what's not - there's no way that I've found to research that.
I know many folks who do 'hand-made' and 'home-made' have found a great home at Etsy.com. I'm not certain the levels of success, but I do know it's specifically for this type of item.
Best of efforts to you on all your sales!! :D :D |

I've done my research on Etsy and that's a thumbs down for me. i've heard they do not promote well, and that your listings get lost in the sauce there. plus not much sales and everyone is more or less underpricing their things to beat out the next guy.
i think i will take a look at the ecrater site and poke around but my gut instinct tells me to put the soaps and such on my wedding website as exclusive favors and gifts.
off to check out ecrater! |

| I like that eCRATER is growing slowly but sensibly. It may not be my long-term home, but for now I trust it a lot. |

eCrater.com opened in December 2004.
I have been selling there since March 2005.

On eCrater.com YOU have to promote yourself. except for Froogle feeds. eCrater.com is like having your own store on the internet.

currently over 220,000 items and last I read about 7500 stores. |
