the october issue of CPU magazine (Computer Power User Magazine) has a pretty definitive article on how google checkout works, as well as a comparison to paypal.

Interesting link and a new informative avenue to PC type news and info
Thanks NPP
This particular link has an area in which buyers and sellers can post what they want and what they sell

Google CheckOut
----------
I'm gonna try it out on a couple of sites I'm developing...
I will also have Paypal buttons, for the buyers choice, but would like to faze PP out altogether & just offer GCO.
anyone who has more info or has been using GCO..this would be a good thread to keep us updated in...

Nope ,Google CHECKout is only for the USA so far......thats ok , its not yet very popular and they stil have to workout alot of bugs.
So international users will likely get a more finished and popular product by the time we can use it ! (I HOPE!) |

Hi,
Our on line website is working with EBAY PAYPAL. We would love to change this if someone can give us good alternative.
We suffered alot from EBAY that suspended us when ever he feel like it.
You can visit our website on www.musbuy.com and see how the system work today.
Thank you for your help

My first Google Checkout experience today. I rec'd an order from Ecrater. I didn't knew they were attempting to pay until I rec'd an email 7 days later. They so not have a definitive way of using the system and you are left to wait until answers are rec'd to ship the item. Not happy.

I just spent about an hour fumbling around the very unhelpful Google Help site. I found a Google Group that is set-up for checkout questions, but it doesn't seen very helpful either.
I have my web site set-up with just the PP buttons that take people to the PP checkout page for payment. I don't use any shopping cart program myself. No need.
I would like to set up a "mirror" set of pages with the GC buttons instead of the PP buttons, but it just doesn't seem to be as easy or even truly feasible. There are just too many things with GC that seem to be "unfinished" that make it difficult if not impossible to use.
If GC wants to be a "player" and compete with PP, they are going to have to make the whole process easier.

Vericoin offers a Credit Card Gateway, payments can also come from a bank account for existing Vericoin members. It is simple and secure to do a full integration into any e-commerce application.
If you are tired of PayPal locking your account, raising fees, and downtime; try Vericoin.

I checked out the Vericoin site and it give very little info about HOW the site works or how I would incorporate it into my site.
If I can't research a site before I join it, I ain't joining.

googlebase CS told me (when I was working on my feed) that I could submit a whole separate feed separate from my web store for google checkout.
Have you considered preparing a feed just for google checkout?

I have, but every time I look at the file specs, it drives me crazy. But that may be the way to go right now.
I'm going to have to look at it again when I'm not tired and confused with too many other things.
