Recently redesigned and ready to go, but it needs some polishing up. Any suggestions? |

I like your logo/mascot, very cute. I like your slogan too. Maybe a little optomistic right now, but nice and positive.
A couple of questions. In looking at the site, I couldn't figure out what script you are using. It didn't seem to be Php-Probid to me. Is it Rscript ?? or what ?
Is there a bulk lister available ?? If it's Rscript are you going to use the Boostlister ??
I ask because there are several of us here that will not bother with a Probid site any more. And many of us won't use another site unless there is a working bulk lister. That Pax bulk lister that the Probid sites use doesn't count as a bulk lister in my book. It won't import a CSV file it makes itself.

Thanks for the feedback!
The site is ASP-based, not PHP. It's loosely based on QuickAuction, though a heavily edited version. It has an Access backend, but that will change to SQL Server if traffic increases.
No bulk lister yet, but I'm going to put that suggestion in my "to-do" notebook.
I'm learning ASP as I go, so I see the site as a way to help others (EPay's fees are outrageous!) while I learn a new coding language. I plan to keep it solely donation-based once it's fully operational, I won't ever force people to pay fees to sell on it.
Keep the suggestions coming! |

OK I'll keep an eye on the site. It sounds interesting.
When you get around to a bulk-lister. look at a few of the sites that use some kind of spreadsheet lister. My personal favorite is the Boostlister that the Rscript sites use. But eBid has a spreadsheet lister that you send to them as an email attachment that works well for me too. Yahoo has a spreadsheet that sometimes works well. But that could be said about the whole of Y auctions - they sometimes work.
What doesn't work is that Pax-bulk thing. It works as an off-line lister like eBays Turbo does. But as something to import a spreadsheet or CSV, it sucks.
Bulk to me means something that I can copy from my master spreadsheets in about 5 minutes and have all my listings in a new sites formst ready to go.
Turbo is an "off-line" make one listing at a time slower than snails lister. Pax-bulk is a Turbo copy cat. Those are not true "bulk" listers in my opinion.
Of course I can be rather opinionated at times, but that's how I feel about them.

So it's easier to upload something like an Excel spreadsheet? I've never used a bulk lister, do they instantly parse the sheet and your auctions are immediately ready, or do you email them to an address and they're loaded later? I can see the latter being easy enough, if you're talking about the former then that'll involve some coding.
Thanks again! |

eBid and Yahoo are slightly different. eBid you email the sheet and it's loaded in from 15 min to a couple of hours if there are no errors in the sheet.
For Y, you upload on the site and it will load right away if there are no errors. It will tell you right away if and where the errors are. The listings are live within a very short time if everything is OK.
With the Rscript sites, the Boostlister uploads a CSV file to the site and if it's OK, it's live in just a few moments.
I'm not a programmer, so I don't know how they do the site side stuff at all.

I'm going to edit the site tonite to allow users to email an Excel spreadsheet or a text file to bulklist@bidbunny.com I think. Either format is easy to import, and if it helps increase traffic it's worth the extra effort. Eventually I'll figure a way to let users import them so their auctions will go live faster.
Thanks for the suggestion! |
