 PSU has storefronts. 9.99/month?! NO FVF or listing fees? How can this be? I've been contemplating the thought of opening up a webstore for quite some time, now, but thought it looked expensive. I'm fairly HTML savvy (fairly), have absolutely no idea what this CSV thing is, tho I'm thinking this is a must to learn in the very near future.
9.99/month.. why doesn't everyone use this? Where's the catch?
Is it easy enough to use for someone who basically only knows eBay? I've looked and listed on other sites, but never had my own other than basic geocities website (HTML created myself but still).
Guide me.. please. :) |

Because these are not auction site stores, this is your very own web site and ecommerce shopping cart. This is NOT an ebay store. Here you are in charge of doing everything. It is challenging & has a learning curve as it is more than just html based. But, there is customer support available.
The $9.99 is your hosting cost...that's it, for that you get EVERYTHING.
Very cool and much cheaper than many of the other shopping cart solutions I've seen.

| I didn't realize I'd still need to purchase a domain name. Not probably going to happen for me right now, but very good to know that PSU stores exist. I'll definitely keep that in mind! |

Yea it is a full fledge website take a look at some of the live sites are users have created already to get a better example http://www.powersellersunite.com/psustore_about.php
Also try out the admin demo. HTML is not nescessary but it is a huge plus if you want to customize your store template. Since it will be your own website and not a cookie cutter store on ebay there is a learning curve. Actually the PSU stores are similar to the ebay prostores. |

Thanks Admin - I gathered they were like prostores. I'm pretty sure I'm understanding this correctly and that it's a webstore, not an auction store. But it has templates such that if I was completely devoid of knowledge, I could still input my products with their information and have it be looking purty??
I heard someone say the PSU store is only hosting, but from what I've gathered by looking at the demo, it is indeed a whole webstore with cart and all, similar to a marketplace/auction store in that you write your own descriptions and upload images and descriptions, but not everything is coded by hand, correct?? |

If you goto http://www.powersellersunite.com/hostingsignup.php
you will see that we have 3 options.
The first "Web Hosting with PSU Store" is hosting and the ecommerce software installed on your server. Your site will look just like the demo site. You can then pick your template, download more on the internet, or even create your own. You can then use the admin backend to input your products, move modules around, setup shipping, payment etc.. You do not have to do any coding
The second option "Power Hosting" is just webhosting so you will have to create or install your own software on it.
The thrid option "Basic Hosting" is similar as "power hosting" but it does not come with a database installed.
You should just try the admin demo so you can try out the PSU Store. |
