Today I was banned from the Ebay discussion Boards for posting a vote against Ebay. So I logged in under my partners account and posted 3 messages. Ebay sent me 4 e-mails claiming some posts as mine that were not mine at all and banning my partners ID. I've contacted Ebay but they don't respond. Is it legal to attribute others posts to your ID and then ban you for them? THis makes me so pissed!

Now I get this post

----------

"we are revoking all privileges of posting on any eBay board or
groups, for an indefinite period of time. During this time you may continue to
bid and to list your auctions. Please note that any violation of this sanction,
by using an alternate ID to post on any eBay board, or to report posts for
violations will result in the suspension of your eBay account, including all
buying and selling privileges."
----------

I'm really pissed!

I had a discussion with a customer at the farmers market today about eBay.

She was somewhat aware of the recent mess but not all of it and didn't know about all the alts and PSU. So I educated her a bit and gave her my card with my site addy so she could check out my info page about alts and here.

She is mostly a buyer and was a bit aware thru friendship with a seller that the fee hike is putting out of business. So when sellers say business is slow on eBay, eBay only has itself to blame as it's chasing everyone away it seems.

it's only a matter of time. Ebay is on the road to disaster.

-----------

Here's the text of the article on my page:

_____________

Ebay says "Let Them Eat Cake!"
by Paul Odekirk

Ebay has just banned me from the Ebay discussion boards for a "indefinite period of time" for "refusing to follow eBay staff instruction". I have yet to receive "staff instruction" and feel this ban is undeserved.

Ebay has shot itself in the foot and is leaking buyers and sellers like a sieve. Although many will continue to list auctions on Ebay, a large number of sellers are looking to other venues to list part or all of their inventory.

Ebay's recent 500% fee increase for it's Stores and the invisibility of many store auctions from it's search engine has angered many sellers and has left buyers leaving Ebay for better (and cheaper) buying elsewhere.

Sellers are jumping ship in the hundreds daily, finding new homes at other venues like WagglePop, Hibidder, and Bidville. Buyers are following the migration of goods and deals to these new sites.

Current counts reveal an estimated 2236 stores have closed, with estimates starting at 676,200 items being cancelled and sellers planning to cancel another 125,500 items before the end of September. These items have moved off Ebay to better online auction sites with more exposure and lower fees.

Ebay management is taking a "Let them eat cake" attitude to long time sellers, instead focusing on Ebay sites in China and India as the saviors for Ebay's falling stock prices. Ebay management has yet to discuss the valid complaints of the sellers and has not even acknowledged the existance of a problem.

With the current situation, many predict rough seas ahead for the online auction giant. Already on the horizon there are several venues jockeying to be a real competitor. Many smaller sites boast better customer service and easy to use programs. Although many sites have a way to go to be a viable force in the world of online auctions with site glitches, invoice problems, low site traffic and limitations when it comes to International buyers. Even with these set backs it's only a matter of time before Ebay's crown slips and we find a rival to the throne.

odekirks, we must have been on the same "vote" board, as I got my pink slap in the mail this morning, my post disappeared and now I hear that the whole thread is deleted. Rather than the 1st Amendment there, it seems that the norm is to plead the 5th!

Geez, Talk about the Ebay mafia!

Next it'll be cement shoes.

I'm now banned forever from posting on the boards. I'll just have to make a new ID.

Cement shoes and sleeping with the fishes!

If you register a new ID, use a different puter and use another ISP. Be sure to clear cookies/cache, etc BEFORE and AFTER each time you sign in/out.
