Yes the little Epileptic Elmo is made in China...says so in bold black on the bottom of the box..
Meanwhile Fisher-Price desperate to get their quarter in and make some dough..have capitalized on the original "tickle me" elmo of 10years ago....What they are not saying is why they created this shortage...I know:..they were waiting to get a rough count of how many they will require...so as to then tell their Chinese factory to get moving...and they will be arriving by the thousands ...if they are not already parked somewhere already...
Having created the hype they have created a demand and strategy equal to other corporations I know?????...

I do not forsee a shortage or an elmo box selling for 1000dollars...what i see is so called "ebay sellers" rushing to sell the Elmos they picked up at the store...reselling on ebay as fast as they can to make a miserable 25.00 less ebay fees & fvf of course they will have made a mere 20.00....20x20 is fine ..but 1 times 20.00 not worth the hype...and all sellers combined selling these have given ebay tooooo much....When I sell a Elmo I will make sure it is worth my while....(then of course I might get everyone yelling about price gouging...well you are the one bidding duh!..or get up early and go wait in line...dont blame me.."Blame the Company" thats like blaming the sellers for ebays greed.......Wonder if there would be the same rush to buy Elmo..if everyone knew these little guys( like most all else in our American Homes these days)...are coming from and Made in China!!!

You gotta love the Americans though

Another story on CNBC this week was "Can Elmo Save eBay?" The hope is that Elmo will bring parents-who-can't-say-no will spend mega bucks on their site, not just on Elmo but will stay to browse. I think that Elmo may bring in mega bucks, but after dropping that hefty sum on this doesn't-this-just-turn-your-stomach fad there won't be anything left over to spend on anything else.

Will it save eBay? Of course not. It's a fad. The shelves will be flooded with the little beasts after January 1 and they won't be able to give them away -- just like that last ones that I saw advertised in my local paper for $1,200.

It would take much more than one little toy to save eBay. This is not like the days when the Apes saved Fox after the Cleopatra debaucle. One toy cannot an auction site save nor can one blockbuster hit save a studio -- or a CEO's job -- after a string of losers or one big loser anymore. The problems of eBay are deep and systemic and the only thing that might save eBay would be a change at the top.

BTW, saw a couple more of those Express ads. Ebay-- out of touch

As silly Americans take max out their credit cards and take out second -- or third -- or fourth mortgages to pay for this silly doll (sometimes you just gotta exaggerate to illustrate how silly they can be), the Chinese -- whose home-buying is soaring -- are laughing their sides out.

And no, folks, sad to say I won't be one of those sellers cashing in on this. -- I can't afford to even buy one of these things to sell on eBay -- they are, after all, $40 a pop.

Nope, wouldn't recommend buying eBay's beleaguered stock based on Elmo.

How can anybody expect a decent price for ELMO when everybody and there brother has them listed.
As for me, I'll sit it out and wait for the holidays to get closer.

I have Elmo for sale but I'll not pay Ebay 1 dime, nor will he go for a mere $60.00
