If August 21 was the last day of the 2-cent listings fees, September 21 marks the expiration of the last of these 2-cent listings. Despite the fury of eBay Inc. (NASDAQ:EBAY) sellers at eBay's management, nothing was heard from them yet. And as is evident, nothing was changed either. The "revolt" thus far didn't stop the fee hike or change management's mind.
eBay Strategies' Scot Wingo makes the point that the top store prior to the fee increase were stores with over 600,000 listings, while now the top store has barely over 200,000 listings. I hate to break it to Mr. Wingo, but this was the point of the fee increase exercises: to shift listings from the Store to the core, which is the traditional auction listing. The question is, of course, whether these listings moved to auction format as eBay's management would have wanted, or whether the sellers simply went elsewhere.

| Medved is showing a flat 20 percent sell thru rate on all sales today - that's down from 25 percent on Sunday. We'll see what tomorrow brings. |

| Does anyone really believe that the store fee increase was done just too reduce store listings? considering that ebay express was being launched and marketed heavy the 3rd qtr. |

| I agree - in my mind the store fee hikes were to force sellers to list in core - they wanted that money and wanted it fast! I'm hoping they shot themselves in the foot and that most store owners who did close down went elsewhere. |

| It was all about making more money. They predicted that they would loose sellers but the offset in added revenue was worth it to them. Push the stores and then raise the fees when everyone is signed up and has done all the work. All part of the plan. |

| Well, business is starting to pick up for me in my Etsy store. I was hovering on one of the discussion boards and two other artists also said they were closing up their ebay stores and moving to Etsy now because they were doing well there. I can't see how this brings the "magic" back to Ebay - on the contrary it is giving competitors that much hoped for push :-) |

EBAY Abuses sellers
I’m or was an EBAY seller. Funny thing is that when ever they want to suspend a seller they just do without any explanation why!!!
For the last 3 weeks they suspended us twice already and asked us to pay all the seller fees immediately and we did.
As for today again suspension, don’t have a clue why and no one to talk to! We have 3 products that we listed and of course they will ask us to pay for it but we wont sell them because WE ARE SUSPENDED!!!
Oh GOD when will the strong companies stop exploiting us when ever they want to!
I’ve asked EBAY to delete our account together with CREDIT Records but they wont even reply your email for it.
HERE IM CALLING ALL, if you suffered same insults from them and been shut out with no reason or no one to explain why, Stop using there system!!!
Don’t let the strong win again, it is so unfair!!!
EBAY you should be ashamed!!! What you are doing is illegal and human wrong.
Really hope that there company will drop dead!!! |
